Movie Reviews of Transporter 2

Movie Review: And The Action Continues
Summary: 4 Stars

There was a little something missing from this one, but not enough to matter. It was that European flavor the original had. This one had more of something the first one did not-a good meaningful story. The choreographed fight scenes were perfect. There was even a throwback of the humorous oil fight scene from the first Transporter. Stratham never disappoints. While there was limited killings, after watching both this sequal and the original, I feel as though someone behind the scenes is determined to minimize the death count, substituting instead for numerous beaten and bruised bad guys. More interesting plot than the original. Again , this movie, like the first, is only for the action/karate fan. On that score it succeeds. This is why I gave it a -4-. I was a little disappointed with the climactic fight scene at th end. The antagonist was such a master, I expected more of a fight at the end. Placing this battle on an airplane going down was fresh, but limited the space for this big fight. Frank did not suffer enough of a beating, at the hands of the evil guy , to make us cheer for him to come back and kick his _____. Esaping from the sinking plane made up for it a little. I have owned both this and the original for a while now, but am getting around to looking at it months later. I will not make that mistake with another Stratham action flick. I will not make that mistake with Transporter 3 . Now when are they going to make Transporter 4?

Movie Review: Don't take it so serious guys!
Summary: 4 Stars

After seeing, and loving, the first Transporter film I had to see the second one and so I took my brother-in-law who was syked and we went opening night. Besides ONE scene, this film was awsome and lived up to it's name. The story revolves around our returning hero Frank Martin (Jason Statham) who is now choufer for a young boy whoes mother played by the beautiful Amber Valetta is going through a rough marraige and is starting to take a liking to Frank. This spirals when her son is kidnapped while in Frank's custody and he is blamed for his disaperance. The boy was kidnapped by this international terrorist type guy played by Alessandro Gassman and for the record, the guy is not French, he is Italian. Anyways...it's his girlfriend who is the real trouble...played by Kate Nauta she plays a lethal killing machine wearing nothing but her underwear and strapped with some uzzies she proves a formidable threat. The fight sequences in the film were expertly choreographed by Corey Yuen and they prove enough to satisfy the fan...but there is one drawback...and that is the whole premise of the final fight scene. It's just way too CGI and choppy and SOOOOOOO increadibly fake looking. BUT as my title states, DON'T TAKE THIS MOVIE SO SERIOUS! It's not ment to be. Laugh a little at the rediculous conclusion but smile as you watch Frank kick serious @$$ and thats the great part about this movie...Jason Statham has moves.

Movie Review: It's unbelievable
Summary: 4 Stars

Really - it is!

The stunts in this movie range from "okay, that could happen" to "no freaking way", but the one thing it has going for it is the non-stop action. Hunky Jason Statham is the main (the only) reason to watch this movie, and this time the delivery man with nerves of steel is slumming it as a chauffeur (as a favor to a friend). Things get complicated when his young passenger is kidnapped, and the Transporter has to draw on his military training to get him back to his parents in one piece.

The bad "guys" include the usual criminal mastermind who knows martial arts, and an assortment of goons in various sizes and shapes, but when we get to the pistol-packing babe in the underwear and the dumb and disheveled looking dude who's supposed to be a scientist, you can feel your eyebrows heading towards your hairline. Fortunately, you're so busy watching Statham do his thing that you can actually swallow the storyline, killer virus scenario and all.

Matthew Modine and Amber Valletta do their best with this jaw-droppingly impossible plot, but Statham again saves the day. Forget reality for eighty seven minutes or so, and let the Transporter do his thing.

Movie Review: Dumb... But Fun...
Summary: 4 Stars

I could go on all day talking about all the silly, unrealistic goings-on in this movie - the guy with a gun runs from the guy without one, the hero flips his car to remove a bomb attached underneath, a helicopter explodes after being shot about three times with a uzi(!), and yet later in the film a half dozen men empty rounds of ammunition into the heros car and he emerges unscathed..

But hey, it's an action movie right?, what else would you expect?

You don't watch movies like this for the oscar winning performances or the great plot, you watch them because you wanna see sh-t get f-cked up, because while it may not challenge you, the viewer, at all, it's a whole lot of fun! And you can rest assured that this film is certaintly fun, of course all the compulsory cliche scenes meant to give the characters depth are there, but they're over as quickly as they'd begun, replaced by over-the-top action scenes, involving fast cars, half naked babes, some very stylish fights and a whole lot of gunplay.

If you enjoyed films like 'Bad Boys 2' and 'Mission Impossibe 2' then you're sure to love 'Transporter 2' but if you prefer good acting and a decent plot with your action, i suggest trying something such as 'Man On Fire'..

Movie Review: Zany Bond-like car stunts & plenty of testosterone. It's a guy flick.
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm not going to tell you what the plot line is because I think a review should review the movie positive and negative points without revealing what actually transpires. Movies should be enjoyed without the viewer knowing what's going to happen next.

Transporter 2 had me going right from the begining. Jason Statham does a great job playing the quiet, yet tough and very capable character, Frank Martin, an ex-special forces soldier we were introduced to in the first Transporter. Martin still hires himself out as a transporter, no questions asked, but instead of a BMW, he's tooling around in a teched-out Audi A8 Sedan. Nice.

As I watched I spotted some far-fetched action scenes that sparked memories of the classic James Bond films. Stuff that couldn't possibly be done in real life, but then I thought, "Hey, it's a movie!" And, just like those Bond flicks, I enjoyed the film without a hitch.

Transporter 2 is a fun, action packed, adrenalin pumping movie with a cool lead character and a good story. Just check your critical thinking skills at the door and you'll be fine. I loved it.
