Movie Reviews of Tourist TrapMovie Review: perfect film transfer Summary: 5 Stars
SCARY MOVIE if you love movies like halloween, puppet master,or friday the 13th you will love this.FOR ALL THE DVD ENTHUSIASTS I OFFER THIS: this dvd version of tourist trap is perfect. darker darks and more definition. there is also a big difference in the audio it sounds much clearer and louder. you will still see some film speckles and that adds to the atmosphere of it. i could not imagine this movie being tediously scraped of all of the imperfections that made the original cassette version so charming. i can tell they put a ton of work into this to perfect it for all the fans of horror. the commentary and INTERVIEW included of dirctor david schmoeller is fantastic because he really lets you in on some secrets of the production and the actors and he gets into it more n more as the movie goes on. this includes not over 40 trailers as stated in the above item description but about 6 or 7 great cult classic trailers one of which features demi moore from the early 80s in a cheesy sci-fi-horror ripoff of aliens! the menus are splendid looking and easy to use. film and actor bios and all the trimmings this is one hell of a dvd i'm going to watch it again right now. my only complaint is that it is too hard to find.

It seems a lot of the old horror "B" movies have been coming out in the recent past on DVD. I've been building my DVD collection with the Massacre series and the like. Seeing this is the season for horror movies, I've been desperate for good movies I haven't seen yet. I've been scouring Amazon's reviews and purchased this movie based solely on previous comments by those who have seen "Tourist Trap". I have to say, I am not the squeamish type. I can watch "Dawn of the Dead" while eating King Crab legs. I watched "Tourist Trap" on DVD for the first time last night. And let me repeat myself. What a creepy movie. Chuck Conners is no longer "The Rifleman" for me. The movie has a bit of gore but leaves most to imagination. The Mannequin thing has been done a million times, but not like this. I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone, so I won't say anymore. Thanks to all the previous, positive reviewers that turned me on to this gem. My suggestion for horror genre lovers. Read my lips. "BUY THIS MOVIE". You can't beat the price. And if you don't put this flick along with your best top 5 horror favorites, you can beat on me via email. mkar@xtdl.com
Movie Review: Mannequins, creepy score, and the Rifleman Summary: 5 Stars
Tourist Trap is one of the best horror films of the 70's. It has everything that a horror film needs, decent acting, good sfx, great score, and an extremely eerie atmosphere.
The movie centers around a group of twenty-somethings in search of their lost friend. They stumble upon an old tourist trap ran by a kind old man...Upon searching for a phone they discover the old man has a dark secret.
I first saw this film on a beat up old VHS way back in middle school, it left an impression on me back then and still to this day remains one of my favorite horror movies. It's proof that a film doesn't need a huge budget to be impressive.
Full Moon has finally given this film the treatment it deserves with the release of this DVD. While the special features are on the slim side the transfer is nothing short of amazing and that's all that really matters. The picture quality is top notch and the colors vibrant. The sound mix is very impressive and Pino Donaggio's beautiful score stands out.
Now all we need is a Blu-ray, but since that probably won't happen during this decade, I'd recommend picking up this DVD.
The price is low and the movie truly is creepy.
Movie Review: they don't make them like this 5 Stars
one of the most underrated horror films of all time!!! since 1973 when ("TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE") bursted on to the horror scene it was proclaimed the top dog (BLUE PRINT) of horror films. ever since then to many horror directors afraid of being called a COPY CAT have chose to stay away from (T.C.M.)instead of actually useing it as a (BLUE PRINT) like it should be!!!!!!! well horror fans director David Schmoeller lets the horror public know that (T.C.M.) was a huge influence in his little known horror gem named ("TOURIST TRAP") all you have to do is watch the movie & you will understand what useing (T.C.M.) as a (BLUE PRINT) is all about!!! this flick is SCARY!! this flick is CREEPY!! this flick is a HORROR SHOW!! THIS IS WHAT A HORROR MOVIE IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!! its a shame that its not as popular as other films because its so much like (T.C.M.) BUT ITS WAY BETTER THAN THE POPULAR FLOPS & IN THE LONG RUN IT WILL OUT LIVE MAINSTREAM BUDGET FILMS LIKE ("i know what you did last summer") just because its way LATER ON FELLOW HORROR FANS!!!E!!!N!!!J!!!O!!!Y!!!
Movie Review: IT HAUNTS YOU ! Summary: 5 Stars
This Movie Was Pretty Cool. Today Was The First Time I`ve SeenIt. It Played On The Movie Channel. And I Mean, I Only Caught The EndOf It....But WOAH, I Mean I COULDN`T Change The Channel I Was Hooked IWanted To See What Would Happen Next. If You Don`t Notice This...You Should ! This Movie Has THE Biggest Resemblence To THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Its Like...People Are In Mask For One Thing. People Are Trying To Leave An Old Abandoned House With Psychotic People Inside, And Always Get Caught. This Movie Contains A Surprise Ending. For Those Of You Looking For The 40 Trailers...You Can Access Some Of Them. And Some Are After The Credits. Or Through A DVD-Rom. The VIDEO Is Still Available, So Don`t Listen To The Person Who Wrote The Other Review. Though. This (the dvd) Is A Very Good Price. And On Some Parts Of The Movie. The PUPPET MASTER Theme Is Used. That Is SCARY ! I Reccommend This From What I`ve Seen. FULL MOON HAS DONE IT AGAIN...!
