Movie Reviews of Top Secret!Movie Review: Pure comedy genius Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely LOVE this movie, with some of the most ingenius sight gags in movie history (the train station is my personal favorite, followed closely by the Swedish bookstore). It was nice to hear an audio commentary from all three directors, though I didn't care for "moderator" Fred Rubin.I'm hard to impress these days, having seen too many movies to be mindblown by them anymore, but "Top Secret" had me collapsed on the sofa. The point here is the gags, not the plot. I can't believe how underrated this movie is, and would encourage everyone to give it a shot.
Movie Review: "Oingay ootay etgay iedfray in the airchay" Summary: 5 Stars
Funny, funny film from the people who brought you "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun". Almost as funny as the film is the commentary track by the creators -- apparently they aren't very fond of this one, and spend a good deal of time during the commentary mocking their own film. But anyway, it's a very funny film. My favorite part: Nick activating the Polaris Mine in the prison lab (check out the submarine guy!). Also recommended (besides "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun" of course): "The Kentucky Fried Movie", also by Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker.
Movie Review: Latrine!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie never gets old. It's so damn funny it'll take forever to explain. If you love slapstick, sight gags, bad puns, and overall stupidity, then this movie is for you.Val Kilmer lacks experience here, but he pulls off his starring role as he hams up silly 50's rock n roll style songs(Skeet-surfin USA is a particular favorite). And who could ever forget the best part about being in the back of a two man cow costume?? The funniest gag of all is to see so many Frenchmen putting up a fight!!!
Movie Review: After watching it 30 times, still new things to laugh at! Summary: 5 Stars
During my military service I saw 'Top Secret' at least 30-40 times. Several people in our small unit were nicknamed after characters from it, and after watching it so many times it's still so funny, minute by minute. Every time you see it you discover new details that makes you laugh more. It's not just a laugh machine, it's a comedy masterpiece that was polished to perfection by genious codemy writers, no less.
Movie Review: Not much to add, but... Summary: 5 Stars
Most of it's been said -- this movie is hilarious in that zany Airplane/Naked Gun/Hot Shots kind of way, with the straight-faced gags and all -- but one thing has not been emphasized enough. Val Kilmer is UNBELIEVABLY HOT!!! Not only is he fantastically attractive, but the singing and especially dancing are to die for. Just another reason to watch a movie which would have been fantastic anyway.
