Movie Review: Different league from DVD quality, but...
Summary: 4 Stars

...for a 20+ year old movie, the original master was preserved incredibly well: the quality of the HD-DVD video is second to none. Loud colors - black detail - perfect for home theater.

Sound is wonderfully mastered, too.

BUT - why oh why - not a single special feature. The menu has a pause/resume option, an audio/subtitles option and a scene selection option. That's it. Would have been a 5* but for that.

I need not mention anything about the movie, only that the transfer/scan to hd resolution was done extremely well with no noticeable scratches or artifacts. The sound quality, especially the DTS track, was flawless and impressive. If you like the movie, or more likely the aircraft, this is a highly recommended item to purchase.

I was lucky enough to see Top Gun when it was in the Theaters, Wow!! Tom cruise was at his peak. Kelly McGillis was awesome. The soundtrack by berlin was to die for !! Man it was so good in HD !.

The TrueHD track was great on my system. Wish there were some extra features, but the MOVIE (that's what we buy these for, right?) was well worth the purchase.
