Movie Review: Chinese irony?
Summary: 5 Stars
Not so much a review, as to express my utter delight in the scene where Lilli's faithless lover is claiming credit for buying her a wonderful coat, and saying that he won't stray again. And I suddenly realized that the music playing in the background was, "It ain't necessarily so" --from Porgy and Bess, I think. But after the immersion in the Chinese culture accompanied by glorious violin music, the tongue in cheek insertion of that song really tickled me.Movie Review: This story will take you to your heart.

A simply told story of an uncomplicated relationship where the caring of a child is all that was important. A well told story of selflessness and love. Why can't our lives be this simple and rewarding. Well crafted and true. If your naturally cynical don't bother for you have to be connected to your heart to feel the meaning especially in the last scene. We all should have the chance to experience love like this. Our parents are overbearing most times, but it all comes from the abundance of love that is often not physically demonstrated, but rather demonstrated in the things they do for you.This a beautiful movie with wonderful performances from every single actor. It is also a story about what is really important.

The movie got my attention from the beginning to the end. This is a father who did everything he could for his son to be make his dream come true, and along the way met nice people that aided him in the process. What I gathered from it was that at the end of the day, a true father's love is stronger than any other thing in the world. I highly recommend for anyone who is into stuff like this. Wonderful film! Very touching story about the love of a father for his son. Warning however, if you have an adopted child from China, you might want to preview the movie first. It has some scenes that may bring up strong emotions for a Chinese adopted child and you will need to be prepared to discuss them.
