Movie Reviews of Thunderbirds (Widescreen Edition)Movie Review: This movie is better than what critics said. Summary: 5 Stars
Before I get to the point, I just want to say that I am a fan of the original series. I had originally slammed the movie because it wasn't like the original series at all. I forgot that 99% of the movies based on TV shows never follow the formula. As a result, I decided to lower my expectations and think of this movie as being introduced to Thunderbirds in a different way. It was definitely worth the matinee price, and I was brave enough to see it twice. I don't think this movie was anything like Spy Kids, like most critics have said about it. I found it very enjoyable, especially the interaction between Jeff (the dad) and Alan (the youngest son) close to the end of the movie. I know it'll never compare to the original series, but it's a great family movie for those who don't want their kids seeing the excessive violence.
Movie Review: One of my faves Summary: 5 Stars
This is a movie that I found myself watching over and over again. As another reviewer has said, the story/script writers and filmmakers have done an excellent job with the adaptation of the UK TV series.
I could really identify with Alan Tracy, the youngest of the Tracy boys, who want so much to become a full-fledged Thunderbird. He gets to prove his worth when his older brothers and father are sent up to Thunderbird 5. Alan, along with Tintin, and Fermat must try to rescue them when The Hood (excellently played by Sir Ben Kingsley) and his cohorts take over the compound.
After seeing the part where Alan and Fermat (along with Tintin and Lady P) launch in Thunderbird 1, it has renewed my interest in taking flying lessons.
This one is definitely a keeper.
Movie Review: SOLID COMIC-BOOK SCI-FI GENRE Summary: 5 Stars
So, is it a kids movie or what? Yes and no, but nonetheless a fantastic sci-fi with a comic book feel to it. Marvel and Space Adventure (i.e. Treks etc.) are my two favorite Genres, so of course; I loved it.
If your a fan of the original Thunderbirds (which seem to be mostly adults), my gathering is that you will be displeased with whether or not the original puppets were 'Honored'. Boo-hoohoo.
It's a great movie I'm glad to add to my Top-Drawer Fantasy Collection.
My one beef is probably Bill Paxton as Mr. Tracy. He just didn't quite pull it off, even though I like him as an actor, there was just something a little off about it.
Movie Review: Thunderbirds are go go go Summary: 5 Stars
The movie is really great, im only 16 years old, and i seriously hated the puppet show from the '60s, but i took my 3 baby cousins (aged 3,4 and 5) to see it, and i think it was me who came out and enjoyed it most of all. It was a fresh, chirpy and, there is no other word for it, "nice" movie, and it set the mood for the rest of the day. The way the kids in it do all they can to save their parents is really heart warming. The kids who where acting, as well as the adults all did a really good job, presenting a panto-like performance that children, and children-at-heart cant help but smile at, i'd definatley watch it again , Definatley a five-star movie!!!!!
Movie Review: Thunderbirds are go Summary: 5 Stars
I never had a chance to watch the original series, puppets seemed a little creepy to me. That being said I loved this movie. Yes there were moments as other have described as corny but I like that about this movie. I like the family dynamic and the actors as well. So what that there were previous movies done with themes of children being the heroes but I like that. I likes all those movies they were fun to watch. It makes the movie more childish and goofy which is a recipe of fun at least for me. Definately watch this movie it is cute. Unlike a lot of movies I like out there if I have kids someday this is a movie I can definatley watch with them and enjoy.
