Movie Reviews of Thrashin'Movie Review: now were just like the guys in thrashin' Summary: 5 Stars
oh. yeah. the most infamous line from my no. 1 movie animal chin.looking forward to the release of all the bones brigade videos on dvd. thrashin' gets 5 stars because of the level of nastalga & danger;-). oh yeah, we can all point out numerous flaws (look for the boom mike @ the first of movie during ramp scene conversation)& clitches but this movie captured the mainstreams "vision" of what skateboarding was back then. just when you think the movie has no idea, they give you the red hot chilli peppers! christian hosoi, steve steadham, & eddie rategui play members of the daggers & the bones brigade did the skateing for the ramp locals(look for the obvious wigs in the st skating scenes).if your an os skater, like me, this movie is for YOU. enjoy the movie but remember to keep an eye on your ramp because the daggers might burn it down:-)
Movie Review: Great 80's skate scenes.... Summary: 5 Stars
The movie is pretty cheesy. The production quality is low, the acting is almost laughable, and you'll hear some of the worst music ever used in a motion picture (and definitely not representative of skating in any era). However, here is why the movie gets 5 stars. There is so much skating that takes place that even if you hate the story you can appreciate the movie for the on board action. It really reflects the mid-80's skate scene by including pool, ramp, streetstyle, freestyle, and downhill. The actors are weak but the actual skating stunt doubles were the best of their time - Tony Hawk, Tony Alva, Per Welinder, Mike McGill, Steve Caballero, Christian Hosoi, Lester Kasai, Billy Ruff, Steve Steadham, Tony Magnussen, & Lance Mountain. Also some of the earliest Red Hot Chilli Peppers footage you'll probably ever find.
Movie Review: great movie and hotties all the way! Summary: 5 Stars
i love this movie and saw it on tape and was so glad it was released to dvd! the story goes like this: corey webster wants to become a big skater and skate for smash skateboards in the valley while he stays with his friend tyler (paul from the lost boys a year earlier!)the best looking thing in the movie! while in the valley for hte summer, corey meets chrissy, the leader of the daggers little sister and he falls in love. so now corey has to watch out for the daggers in order to stay in the skateboarding buis, with his buds the ramp locals and get with chrissy. its totally worth 10 bucks at bestbuy! go for it, if not for the movie itself than only to stare at gorgeous brooke mccarter (paul from the lost boys) as tyler in ths film.
Movie Review: kick a** Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of those classic childhood movies you grow up watching time and time again. A supremly kick a**film that features all the old skool goodies - freestylin, fat skateboards, mondo catch phrases, cool hairdos and even the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. If you want a movie that encompases all things 80's in the skating era this is the movie to see. And where would you be without the classic boy meets girl storyline and baddie versus goodie, only to see them reconcile their differences at the end of the movie, heartwarming But seriously a really enjoyable movie that is just so funny to watch in this day and age and remember just how cool you thought it all was in 'the old days' And see if you can spot Tony Hawk
Movie Review: So bad that it's good Summary: 5 Stars
OK, honesly, I never actually saw the entire movie. But I saw the last half of it when it was on TV, and it was just so awful that I couldn't not watch it! There's this scene where these two guys have to settle their differences, so they decide to have a duel. Normally, a duel is two guys with pistols, or two guys with swords. But in this movie, it's two guys on their skateboards on a halfpipe swinging heavy chains at each other! Fighting on your skateboard? WTF?! That alone is reason enough to buy this movie! But I don't want to ruin the entire story for you, so I won't tell you if the hero wins the downhill skateboard race at the end of the movie or if he gets the girl. Can't stand the suspense? Buy this now!
