Movie Review: Love this DVD!

I've been waiting a long time for Tom's shows to be released. I am mostly pleased with the result. The ONLY thing that could have made this release any better would have been to release the complete shows. Have that being said, I love this DVD! Now, I have to confess that I am a Tom Jones fan, and have been for a loooong time, so I may be biased in my opinon. I enjoyed Tom's recent introductions and recolections of the episodes and the lengthy interview. But, the shows are dynomite and just how I remembered them! The guest stars are great and Tom's performances outstanding! I love the duets; I'm for the most part amused by the comedy sketches and adore the concert portion at the end of each episode. Anyone that loves Tom Jones.....Will love this. I have loved Tom Jones every since he had his Telvision show, so I have been waiting for someone to release this DVD for years. I can't tell you how excited I was to be able to sit back and revisit these special years when Tom was on my Telvision screen every week. I never missed a show. I love being able to watch them all over again. Who in their right mind would ever get tired of watching TOM JONES......And his sexy self. So all of Tom Jones fans this is a must. And if your not a fan, after watching this wonderful DVD you will become one.Movie Review: proving why HE was the best vocalist of his generation....

These clips from Tom's old British American TV series prove that he was indeed the best male vocalist of his generation. His version of "Danny Boy" (twice!..oddly enough?) was enough for me to purchase this DVD set!
While there will be fans complaining of "this and that" anytime an icon like Tom Jones releases his past history in DVD format...if you were/are a fan of Tom Jones, this is a must purchase for you!
Again...I am hopeful they release all of his memorable variety shows in this Time Life series.

I can't wait til VOL. 2 is released! The title of this E-mail says it all - WORTH WAITING FOR ALL THESE YEARS! I saw Tom Jones live the first time when I was 14...just saw him again at the MGM GRAND in Vegas for my 30th wedding anniversary last March...with my husband, of course...I am so thrilled to see the TV show released on DVD! My 82 yr old Mom is also enjoying the DVD and gives it 5 stars as well! She and I are both avid fans - and so was my Grandmother!

Fantastic Era! Sir Tom Jones at his best, no comparison with other phases.
Highly recommended!
Fantastic duets, specially Janis and Aretha. Nothing is perfect: uncomplete episodes with even Tom jones permormances as "the shadow of your smile" and "try a little tenderness" (at Aretha episode) cut...what a pity! But the best was preserved.
I'm looking forward to buying the Volume 2! (maybe Ray Charles, Bee Gees, Sammy...)
