Movie Reviews of Thin Lizzy: Greatest Hits

Movie Review: It Hits You Like A Hammer.....GODDARN!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This here's a dvd of Thin Lizzy's videos. If you remember the Dedication vhs tape, you'll know what you're in for. However, a few from that vhs aren't on this dvd, and a few on this dvd weren't on the vhs. There are also two videos from Phil's first solo album here as well. The whole thing clocks in at about an hour and there are no special features...just the videos. Some might feel they got hosed on this deal, but the asking price isn't bad and it's Thin Lizzy for cryin' out loud! Sure, this dvd would probably be best as part of a multi part Lizzy set, but what can you do? The picture and sound are a bit muffled on Thunder and Lightning, but the rest is restored about as best as possible. The sound is actually quite good come to think of it. Definitely a no-brainer for the hardcore Lizzy fan.

Movie Review: Great DVD
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this DVD. I only have two minor gripes. They should have included the video for Phil Lynott's Old Town. I know it's not exactly Thin Lizzy, but it would have been a nice bonus. The second, they could have labeled it better. The tracks say live (most of them aren't) but give us the date like did. You did it for Whiskey In The Jar, why couldn't you label the rest? Well anyways, it features music videos along with promos, which are all mimed. Come on people you should have known that back then everyone mimed, and even today they still do! The sound quality is good, but the video quality varies at times, in particular The Boys Are Back In Town, but hey, it's from the 70's, what were you expecting? Overall it's a great buy, especially for Thin Lizzy fans.

Movie Review: Need help!
Summary: 5 Stars

Sorry, this isn't actually a review. I need some help finding a particular Lizzy performance and was wondering wether it was on this DVD. It's "Dancing in the Moonlight" live on Top of the Pops (I believe it was in 1977) and at some point during the song, Phil brings two girls from the audience up onstage. One of the girls is a relative of mine and I'd really love to be able to find the footage for her. If you know where I can find it please, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!

Movie Review: A trip back in time...
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes,in a lot of ways this is a Dedication redux. But for me the addition of all the rare lynott solo videos, the uncut Whiskey in a Jar live {unlike the montage in Dedication}and Thunder and Lightning live [with what sounds to me like Phil imitating Lemmy of Motorhead on vocals]plus the upgrade in sound quality make this a must own.Now where are the Thunder and lightning and Live and Dangerous live sets? God bless Philo and the boys!

Movie Review: Great Lizzy video
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw Thin Lizzy for the Chinatown tour in Europe in the early eighties. I didn't even know these videos existed. This dvd is worth every penny. I might even buy another for a friend, since its at such a good price. Still waiting for that rock masters dvd though. I'm not really interested in those rockumentary dvds just wanna see some rockin
