Movie Reviews of The Young Riders - The Complete First SeasonMovie Review: The Young Riders - Season One Summary: 5 Stars
I'm glad this show has finally been released on dvd. The VHS tapes that I have aren't the best quality. This western series is about the adventures of a group of Pony Express riders. The Young Riders is packed with action, adventures and interesting characters. The first season is an introductory season where we get to know the characters, their personalities and backgrounds. Through the adventures, you learn more about the characters.
Here are brief descriptions of the main characters:

William F. Cody a.k.a Buffalo Bill Cody: He actually rode for the Pony Express as a young man; portrayed by Stephen Baldwin.

Buck Cross: He is part Kiowa Indian who spent his childhood with the Kiowa tribe and his adulthood living in the white mans' world as an Express rider; portrayed by Gregg Rainwater.
Ike McSwain: Ike became mute after seeing his family killed and he uses Indian sign to communicate; portrayed by Travis Fine.
Noah Dixon: A free black man living in a time of slavery; portrayed by Don Franklin who joined the show in the second season.
Louise McCloud: The only female rider who disguises herself as a boy and calls herself 'Lou' so that she can ride for the Express; portrayed by Yvonne Suhor.
