Movie Review: The Wizard???? Take me to see the WIZ!!!

After reading some of the other reviews, I just have to say that the Wiz definitely outshines The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I can't even bear to watch that version anymore. Give me the Wiz! Also, it is true that the stage adaptation of The Wiz was on a totally different level (it was absolutely wonderful - I saw it with Ms. Stephanie Mills as Dorothy). But Michael Jackson blew me away with his portrayal of the Scarecrow - I had to buy the soundtrack so I could listen to "You Can't Win" and "Ease on Down the Road"!Great Movie!!!

THE WIZ HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE MUSICAL SINCE I SAW IT ON BROADWAY AS A CHILD WITH STEPHANIE MILLS. AND BECAUSE ITS A TIMELESS CLASSIC MY CHILDREN LOVE THE MUSICAL AS WELL. EVERY MUSIC NUMBER WAS WONDERFUL AND EVERYONE COULD ACT.
THE MOVIE WILL NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE.
THIS MOVIE IS SOMETHING THAT TAKES YOU OUT OF OUR TIME AND INTO A TIMELESS PLACE WHERE YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR IMAGINATION. WHICH IS SOMETHING GOOD,BECAUSE MOST MOVIES HAVE LOST THAT QUALITY. THANK GOD. THERE ARE MOVIES LIKE THE WIZ AROUND.

Yes, the original is excellent-a true classic in every sense. But let's be modern, and culturally plural with our perspectives. Diana Ross soars, the film is lavish and urban, with the right amount of grittyness. Supporting characters are great too. It's a shame that black themed movies can't muster the same followings that a mainstream film can. When will this narrow vision cease to exist. Give black films a try, especially when they star black stars such as MISS ROSS who set the mold for entertainers of all colors!!!Movie Review: I love this movie!

Everytime I watch The Wiz I smile. The music just makes you want to dance. Do not watch this movie and compare it to the Wizard of Oz, it is not a remake. This movie is an interpretation of the book. It puts a wonderfully imaginative black twist on a familiar story. I had the video but the tape broke from watching it to much. I'm buying the DVD so that my 4 year old daughter can experience The Wiz. "Believe" and "Home" will bring tears to your eyes and "Ease on down the road" will make you want to do just that.Movie Review: greatest movie to see!

i saw this movie from a friend last year and i never seen it but when i saw it. i thought it was cute and funny. michael looked very funny in that costume. i couldn't stop laughin at him the way he moved and singed i loved the smile. and everyone in it the movie was good. i knew had to have it. but it was not in stores but i am glad the dvd was here. i watch this over and over. i could not stop smiling and laughin. this is the movie to buy for michael jackson and diana ross fans great children movie.
