Movie Reviews of The WizMovie Review: I was surprised! Summary: 5 Stars
Many people have said how 'The Wiz' is a boring movie...but if they watch closely, it's much deeper than MGM's film.
The singing, dancing and acting in the film are pure entertainment. Diana Ross makes me feel as if she IS Dorothy. The emotions she expresses in the film seem so real. Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow is simply Adorable! The fancy (deliberately clumsy) footwork are perfect, the singing is INCREDIBLE and the acting - one would believe that Michael Jackson IS the scarecrow. The injured and hurt personality of the scarecrow really shines in Michael's portrayal.
The film has many good jokes and a great sense of humour. Yet, at the same time, the film delves into serious themes, such as Friendship and Self-Belief.
An incredible movie! :D

Movie Review: A classic forever !! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie came unto the scene when I was only 8 yrs old. I must say that-it has the same impression on me now as it did then. I originally owned this movie on laserdisc. I overhauled my library about a year ago, after being impressed with DVD. I was skeptic at first, before buying the DVD version. Now that I bought it, I realize that this was a great decision !!!!! The transfer for this 21 yr old movie is superb !! Great job. Great video-great audio. For anyone, such as myself, who adores this movie-don't miss out. Go out and make this title part of your collection. Don't waste time renting. This is a title that should be in all homes. Performances in this movie were great to me as a child, and now they are great to me as an adult !!
Movie Review: A Classic and a must see for Motown lovers Summary: 5 Stars
I seen this movie for the first time when i was about 9 years old on a tv station. My mother went crazy because she said she hadn't sent this movie since she was about 15 mind you she was born in 1966. The songs and overall plot put a soulful spin on an american classic. The easy to sing to lyrics an joyful tone are what are my most listed memories. I have all my friends see this movie when we all are picking out something to watch. I find myself humming lines and singing in my head whenever i catch wind of the first version of the wizard of oz. This is a true cinema classic and needs to be re-released and restore in theaters everywhere. I've even seen adaptations of the movie done in the theater and the music helps make it even more enjoyable.
Movie Review: Excellent Family Fun! Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie for the first time when I was four years old. I enjoyed it very much. We rented it from a small movie shop that went out of business and I didn't see it for seven years after the shop closed. I got it as a birthday gift from our next door neighbors and now seeing it, I realize its greatness! It shows Dorothy, who is a kindergarten teacher afraid to go out and meet people. The movie stays very true to the original which I liked, and the talent was excellent! It also shows the development of Dorothy after she meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion. She becomes much more open with people and she's less shy. Not exactly politically correct, but that's not neccasarily a bad thing. GO GET IT! IT'S WONDERFUL!
