Movie Review: Damn Fine TV show.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This was awesome. I still hit myself when I think that I never watched this show once while it was running on HBO. Stupid, stupid, stupid. If you've made the same mistake I did, you should immediately buy them and watch them. Movie Review: A solid, if not better season

For better or worse, the third season of the Wire continues to have the same problems the first two seasons of the wire had. The slow pacing of the show, heavy handed dialog, and too many story lines to count continue to hold the show back from the greatness it deserves. Despite this, I found the subject matter in season three, "reform" or the lack thereof, extremely resonating and intriguing enough to keep me watching. I just wish that by season three more action and drama was utilized.
As a documentary, lecture even, season three of the wire is great to watch. As a TV show thats moving and compelling, not so much. Maybe next year.

Season 3 of The Wire gets things back on track with the ongoing battle between the BPD and the Barksdale crew. Compelling new characters such as Cutty and Bunny are fleshed out, and the last few episodes of the season are heartbreaking to say the least. Definitely a must have for fans of the show.Movie Review: The most thought provoking program I've ever seen!

I don't have HBO but heard great things about The Wire so I tried the first season on DVD earlier this year and I'm hooked. I've watched 3 seasons now and can't wait to plunge into the last two. Movie Review: Good but not great

I love The Wire and agree with all of those who say it was one of the best shows on TV. But, I didn't think that season three was an example of their best work. It all seemed just a little tired and not much more than an extension of season one. This in no way says that you should avoid it. The characters, the acting, the sub-plots are all what you expect from this team. So, good stuff just not as good as, say, season two. Happy viewing!
