Movie Reviews of The Wire - The Complete Fourth Season

Movie Review: The Wire Fourth Season
Summary: 5 Stars

All four seasons are fantastic, however this season shows how the show has matured into a tour-de-force of viewing. This is TV at it's finest - Deadwood being it's only equal. The Shield was a fine show - but not in the league of The Wire - it's like watching your favorite movie in an extended 12 hour version - go out an buy it now you won't regret it.

Movie Review: Niiiice
Summary: 4 Stars

This season was packaged differently and I liked it..you could let friends borrow one disc at a time instead of risking losing the entire season to a wayward buddy's lifestyle. I breezed through this season as well. I do not know if I would say this season is my 2nd favorite including the previous 3 but it is very close, if it is not. (Nothing beats season 1...I think..have not seen season 5 yet). Our favorite characters now have offspring (who play a huge role in this season) and are growing older, if not growing up as well. Many players are part of a new game. It is a gem of a series and it did not do a thing in this season to compromise that status.

Movie Review: The Wire -- Season 4
Summary: 5 Stars

This is an A-Title Movie Quality release. Be prepared to lose ten hours on the day you watch the first episode. You won't be able to stop until you have watched all thirteen. If you can, start with Season 1 and keep going.

Movie Review: Dickens TV
Summary: 5 Stars

I write this only to add another five-star review to the best series ever shown about what is wrong with some American cities. The failures in education, politics, security and the skewed economy that directs poor people to employ themselves in illegal (but profitable) industries are exposed, analyzed, compared and even resolved with some solutions proposed as a base for future analysis. It is not a sociology book, so things are necessarily superficial (academically speaking, I mean), but you get the gist of the problem and the nuances at the street level that comes with it. This season has a storyline that talks directly to the "ivory tower" and the problems of implementing programs born out of academic good intentions.

Movie Review: BEST TV IN SOME TIME
Summary: 5 Stars

EACH SEASON HAS BEEN QUALITY. NO LETDOWN IN DRAMA. SAD TO SEE SERIES END AFTER #5, BUT MAYBE FOR BEST IF UNABLE TO MAINTAIN VALUE OF THE SHOW. WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SEEN SPIN-OFF WITH OMAR OR MARLO OR McNULTY. WELL WORTH VIEWING. WATCH EPISODE 1 SEASON 1 AND YOU ARE "WIRED"
