Movie Reviews of The Winds of WarMovie Review: Awesome television... Summary: 5 Stars
Exceeded my expectations beyond my recollection of first viewing the production so many years ago! I've since become a history professor and I owe a huge debt to directors like Curtis. All of those who contributed to this film (as well as _War and Remembrance_) can rest on their laurels for a lifetime. Yes, it is truly that good.
Movie Review: Better than I remember it! Summary: 5 Stars
Brings back memories of when I first saw this Series on network TV.
Much better when able to view it without commercials every few minutes.
Series is 'timeless' and provides reminders of what people went through during WWII. Will acquire 'War and Remembrance' to complete the series.
Well worth the price.
Movie Review: Simply Great! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first purchase of anything that had to deal with the 2nd world war. Sure, I've watched Private Ryand and Bands of Brothers but this series showed the makeup behind the USA getting slapped at Pearl Harbor. If anyone is looking for a history lesson via the DVD arena, this series sums it up within 15 hours.
Movie Review: The Winds of War Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent. One of the best mini series made. The series is based on the novel, The Winds of War by Herman Wouk, and follows the book very well. There is only one catch, this is only half the story. The second novel War and Rememberance, which was also made into a mini series is just as good.
Movie Review: The Winds of War DVD Summary: 5 Stars
Our purchase was received quickly, and well packed. We watched the whole Winds of War series over a weekend and thought it was marvelously accurate and true to the historic period. Even though this was an older miniseries, it was good to see actors from years ago.
