Movie Reviews of The Wind and the LionMovie Review: Question About Keepcase Summary: 5 Stars
Can any customer that bought this title recently please tell me if the film is now being released in a keepcase as opposed to the old snapcase which I do not like. It appears in the photo posted that it is now being sold in a keepcase if the photo is accurate. Any confirmation by a recent purchaser would be appreciated. I sent an email to Amazon customer service but they told me that they were not sure. This is a great adventure film that I would like to add to my collection but only if it is packaged in a keepcase which I find to be more sturdy and stack better together on a shelf. Thank you in advance to any customer who can provide me with an answer.

Movie Review: Dittoes ad infinitum Summary: 5 Stars
Scene: the Marines have overwhelmed the guards at the palace of the Bashaw. Their leader presents the point of his saber to the chest of the hookah-smoking Bashaw, "Captain Jerome, United States Marines", he says with a sly grin. "You are a dangerous man, Captain, and your President Roosevelt is mad," declares the Bashaw. Captain Jerome returns saber to scabbard, throws the Bashaw a snappy salute, and retorts, "Yessir!" That so thoroughly expressed the proper attitude of an American addressing an old-world potentate - so far superior to the way so many Americans suck up to British royalty these days - that I cheer every time I see this scene. Needless to say, I've had a VHS copy for years and eagerly await the availability on DVD.
Movie Review: A Historical Twist But A Great Movie Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this in 1975. I took a group of Samoan boys to watch it in Pago Pago. They loved it, the Raisuli was a really heroic figure.
It's in our DVD collection, but I haven't seen it again until I just glimpsed it on TNT this evening. It hasn't lost anything over the years, but one line in particular made me pay attention. The Raisuli is talking to his captive, Mrs. Peridcaris, watching two men trabsfer water from a well into a bucket. Something like> "When one bucket empties, another bucket fills. Right now, you (America) have all the power. But you are wasting it. And Islam is lapping up the drops."
All in all, an excellent little-known film.
Movie Review: Absolutely Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this movie at the theater, many years ago, and was taken by the fantastic story of Theodore Roosevelt vs the Sheik. The main stars of this movie perform splendidly and the rest are just as entertaining. As someone who studied Teddy in school and later in life, I must add that I thought Brian Keith's portrayal was far and away the best likeness of Teddy that has ever been done in a movie. Sean Connery plays the Sheik masterfully and nobly and in this current time it is nice to see a balance approach to the "barbaric" Islam tribes. Connery plays the Sheik as honorable and worthy of respect. Definitely a must see movie.
Movie Review: Excellent movie! Summary: 5 Stars
If adventure movies appeal to you, this one is worth your time. Sean Connery has never turned in a bad performance, and he is on top of his game in this film. Set in Morocco in late 1904, the film is based on a true story of an American woman abducted along with her children from her home in Tangier, and held hostage by a Berber chieftain, Raisuli.
Set in a time when many European nations' colonial aspirations were in full swing, this film touches on opposition to the European powers, but does not dwell on it. It is a love story in many ways, and one of the best films of this genre, possibly the best one. Highly recommended.
