Movie Reviews of The Wiggles - Yummy YummyMovie Review: They're a hit! Lose the puppets, though. Summary: 4 Stars
OK, I must admit that these guys annoyed me at first and I put them into the Teletubbies category (i.e. those things are NOT coming into MY house). But the Wiggles have definitely grown on me. What's more, my 2-year-old loves them. The only thing that stops me from giving this DVD 5 stars are those FREAKY puppets that they show in a couple of songs. They are downright weird, and they give me the heebie jeebies. My son doesn't seem to mind them, but I sure do.
Movie Review: Skip the puppet part if it bothers you Summary: 4 Stars
This DVD has lots of the favorite Wiggle songs my son loves. There is one song that has puppets which at first I thought was scary and more of an acid trip but my son was not bothered by it. He's almost 2. Now after playing the DVD over and over again we sing and dance to it as well as all the others. You can skip over it if you don't like it or let your child decide! Other than that, DVD is great and filled with the popular songs the Wiggles sing.
Movie Review: Very Entertaining Summary: 4 Stars
The puppets frightened my oldest child, but my 17 month old doesn't seem bothered by them. Also, the magic routine loses the youngest viewers. Overall this is a fantastic video. The songs are cathcy and fun and both of my kids love copying the dances. It's also good for parents who want a quick 30 minute cardio workout. I'm grateful that there are grown men out there willing to make fools of themselves for my children's entertainment.
Movie Review: A delight for toddlers Summary: 4 Stars
My son has been a Wiggles fan since he was just under a year old. The songs are catchy and not preachy, and it seems as though the older videos, such as this one, appeal to the younger children the most. The ones that are being made more recently, i.e. "Wiggly Adventure", are more movie-like and have less song and dance sequences which hold the tot's attention. This is an excellent video to watch on a rainy day with 1-5 year olds!
Movie Review: Worth it for Fruit Salad, Hot Potato, D.O.R.O.T.H.Y... Summary: 4 Stars
Yes, you see the clips for these songs a lot on the Playhouse Disney show. But they are my 2-year-old's favorites, and its nice to have them on hand so I can play them whenever he wants. He loves dancing to the songs. He loves Greg's magic and says the magic word -- "ala-zam" -- right along with him. As for the puppet issue, I agree they are pretty freaky, but they don't bother my son at all, so I guess they're okay.
