Movie Reviews of The Wiggles - Dance Party

Movie Review: First and Favorite Wiggles Video
Summary: 5 Stars

Yes, the production quality is awful; Anthony's hair looks like he doesn't own a mirror; and in half the scenes Anthony has on a short sleeve shirt/half long sleeved. However, it is still my favorite.

Dance Party was our family's first introduction to the Wiggles in 2003. My son (now 5 1/2) had a HUGE Wiggles obsession right as they first started gaining popularity in the US.

The songs were silly and fun, whereas many of the later ones seem like they ran out of ideas and yet still felt compelled to keep writing songs, no matter how stupid they are. Maybe I only feel this way because these are the Wiggles songs that I knew first, but all of the subsequent Wiggles videos we have (close to 10!) just don't measure up.

Perhaps it is because I watched it a million times before they even HAD a "real" big red car, but there is something appealing about 4 guys and their Cardboard props that is more original and refreshing than the over commercialized, over-done videos that followed.

Movie Review: The Wiggles - one of the early year dvd!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love seeing how the Wiggles have progressed and this dvd is full of fun and interesting things that the adults will notice, but when watching my 19 month daughter loves it and doesn't seem to notice or care!

Greg wears a sorta orange shirt rather than his yellow shirt. You'll also see other Wiggles singing and you'll quickly see why Greg does the singing now! Captin Feathersword's patch is on the other eye, and everyone but the now loveable Capt. Feathersword who is on Disney Channel and newer dvds. None of the boys have their color lined pants or wiggles belt buckles just to name a few of the things that makes this dvd so special!

My husband was joking that this dvd is was probably their class project! We loved the Wiggles and don't mind singing their catchy tunes!!! We've come along way since listening to 80s rock to now knowing Wiggles !!

Movie Review: How could a true Wiggles lover complain about this one?
Summary: 5 Stars

When I put this DVD in for the first time, I yelled at my husband "You've got to see this!" We laughed so hard! The big red cardboard car, Anthony's hair and miniature drums and green polo shirt. Jeff driving...now really, who would let the narcoleptic Jeff behind the wheel? The incredibly cheap props and comstumes. Overall we think it's great. A lot of really enjoyable songs and how can you not laugh at Anthony as Captain Feathersword? Nicky Nacky Nocky Noo gets me every time. It may be old and poorly produced, but it just shows what these guys have done to get to where they are now. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Movie Review: If you love the Wiggles, you will love this video/DVD!
Summary: 5 Stars

We're BIG fans of the Wiggles. My 2-1/2-year-old twins love to jump and dance around while watching their Wiggles videos/DVDs, and this one is no exception. Yes, it contains "classic" Wiggles songs and skits, and was probably recorded early in their careers. The backgrounds aren't as spiffy as the ones in their later videos/DVDs, and there aren't any fancy computer graphics. It's still a lot of fun, though! (I almost didn't buy this one because of the bad reviews I'd read. I'm SO glad I took the chance and bought it anyway.)

Movie Review: one of the best wiggles videos
Summary: 5 Stars

I have to disagree with the people who dislike this video for its low production values--that's precisely why we like it. The songs are great -- all the classics are here. Also, the skits are few and relatively short. (Our two-year-olds get bored during the skits and long conversation-pieces.) There aren't a huge number of distracting colors and lights on the stage; just tons of good singing and dancing. We love this video, along with "Wiggle Time", which is also a relatively early pre-Disney production of theirs.
