Movie Reviews of The Wedding Singer

Movie Review: A great film
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of my favorite movies for many reasons. The story is very good. It will make you feel all of your emotions at diffrent times. It is a romantic comedy that people who hate romantic comedies can enjoy. The story is Robbie Hart (Sandler) is a great master of cermonies until he is left on his wedding day at the altar. After this things start going bad for him. His jobs are not going well because he is so depressed over the loss of his wedding that me stops caring. Then he meats Julie (Drew Barrymore) and starts to fall in love but Julie is engaged to get married. He has to find a way to get her to fall for him instead of getting married to "a jerk-off like him" in his own words. You will watch this movie and want to watch it again and again. On top of the acting being great the film also has great music.

Movie Review: Wonderful Mix of Romance and Comedy without being too Chick Flicky
Summary: 5 Stars

The Wedding Singer is the perfect melding of over the top humor and gushy romance, which allows it to be enjoyable for almost everyone
Adam Sandler is renowned for his crazy humor which can sometimes be over the top. He brings that sense of humor to his throwback to the '80s. Sandler stars as, Robbie Hart, a Wedding Singer, who loses his passion for Weddings when his fiancee leaves him at the alter. Drew Barrymore plays, Julia Sullivan, a waitress at the catering hall that Robbie sings at, who helps Robbie through his loss. The befriend each other and the story takes off from there. Though there are several trite occurances, where both Julia and Robbie misunderstand situations and are led to believe the other doesn't like them. The end finale (starring Billy Idol) gives viewers something to smile about

Movie Review: Possibly Sandler's Greatest Film
Summary: 5 Stars

The Wedding Singer is a film that is just fun to watch every time it is seen, it's also a film that gets you hooked after the first time. I think this movie surprised a lot of people and showed the world that Adam Sandler can move past movies like Billy Madison and do a comedy that has good songs, good jokes and love story that relates to everyone.

Sandler and everyone in the film does a great job in the film; it's funny when it's supposed to be and it's thoughtful when it is supposed to be. It's all because the script is just so good. I've never met anyone in person who hasn't liked this movie, those who never care for Sandler like the movie. I've been a fan of Adam's for a long time and I really do think this is one of his best movies.

Movie Review: Funny movie -- and even better on DVD
Summary: 5 Stars

The Wedding Singer is one of the funniest movies of the 90's, not to mention (in my opinion) Adam Sandler's best. This movie has everything from a Billy Idol cameo to a rapping granny- and it's even better on DVD, with an original interactive menu including tons of cool bonuses: 5 Karaoke Songs ("White Wedding", "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me", "Rapper's Delight", "Every Little Thing she does is Magic" and "Hold Me Now"), 80's Music Trivia, Cast Bios and Filmographies, a Photo Gallery and Widescreen & Fullscreen movie versions. Watching this movie always makes me laugh, and I'm glad I got all the extras on the DVD version. The Wedding Singer is a great comedy to add to anyone's DVD collection.

Movie Review: Sandler nails the romantic comedy.
Summary: 5 Stars

Most people wouldn't imagine that Adam Sandler could make a good romantic comedy. Granted, this movie has a lot more straight up comedy than most in this genre, but that's what he's good at. The budding romance between him and Drew Barrymore's character was just great to watch.

Her despicable fiancee, Glenn Gulia (reminiscent of the villainy of Shooter McGavin in HAPPY GILMORE and Eric Gordon in BILLY MADISON), was played brilliantly by Matthew Glave. Sandler always has the best "villains" in his movies.

The guest appearance by Billy Idol was great and John Lovitz' bit part was hilarious. If you're looking for a romantic movie that'll make you laugh, this is the one. Sandler and Barrymore make a great onscreen couple.
