Movie Reviews of The Wedding SingerMovie Review: Remembering 1985 Summary: 5 Stars
Adam Sandler is best known for playing basically idiots who sense of humor doesn't extend much past the bathroom. While he is very funny and great at playing those characters, he was painting himself into a corner. He really turned heads with his portrayal of Robbie Hart in The Wedding Singer. The movie takes place in a Northern New Jersey town circa 1985. Robbie is a popular wedding singer who is about get married himself. He meets Julia who is a server at the catering hall he performs at. She too is engaged and they strike up a friendship. Robbie is stood up at the altar and sinks into a depression. He is revived out of it by Julia, whom he then falls for. He finds out that her fiancé is a jerk who fools around on her. He eventually wins her in the end and the movie closes with Robbie and Julia marrying. Mr. Sandler plays Robbie with a sensitivity and charm that he had previously never revealed. You really feel for him and care what happens to him. Drew Barrymore is stunning as Julia and she plays her with a romantic innocence. The clothes, hair and set designs are all classic 80's stuff and if you grew up in that time, they will elicit laughs as well.
Movie Review: The Ultimate 80s Generation DVD Summary: 5 Stars
The movie is MEGA-nostalgic. It recalls almost everything about the 80's from the attire, toys, and emphasizes on things that were hip at that time which makes the movie funny for those who can recall the 80's.The DVD adds a whole lot more to the nostalgia. The artistry of the menu itself was very 80's - very COOL. The Karaoke option is a bit crude but still nice to have in the DVD. The scene selection is one of those moving type wherein each scene is moving and not just a simple picture. The 80 trivia game is fun to play. Parts of the lyrics are displayed and you try to recall the singer and the title, though they should have gotten lyrics from all the songs from the movie before any other song. The only thing missing are the theatrical trailers and TV spots. Though you have the option of the full screen or the wide screen version, this is one of those very rare movies wherein full screen version is better. This is because the wide screen version cuts off some top and bottom parts of the movie while showing the cut-off side parts.
Movie Review: Classic Adam Sandler Summary: 5 Stars
This goes down in my book as one of Adam Sandler's best movies to date. In it he plays Robbie Hart, a struggling Wedding Singer who lives in his sisters basement who is stranded at the alter by his spoiled fiancee. He's a mess until he befriends Julia (Drew Barrymore), the waitress with a heart of gold. But, problems arise again when Robbie finds himself falling for her - she's engaged to some sleazy, two-timing, self-absorbed, Walstreet jerk. Convinced that she would never fall for a bum like him, Robbie keeps his feelings a secret. But little does his know, she feels the same way for him. This movie is so much fun! Adam Sandler is absolutely hilarious. I laugh out loud every time I watch this movie. And who knew Drew Barrymore could actually be funny before this movie? The movie is full of 80's references (taking place in '85) - Rubik's cube, big hair, Madonna, David Bowie, Van Halen, Freddy Krueger, and...my personal favorite... Billy Idol - live and in person! Everyone should have this DVD as a part of their collection!
Movie Review: A romantic comedy! Summary: 5 Stars
Adam Sandler at his best, matched up with Drew Barrymore, this dynamic duo makes you want to laugh, cry, and fall in love. The frosting on this wedding cake is when you flash back to the 80's with a great soundtrack of hits from all your favorites.
The movie takes you back to all fads such as Michael Jackson's white glove, Miami Vice, Billy Idol, Alabama Slammers, all-temper-Cheer, and hairdo's that wil make you laugh.
The story is simple--boy meets girl, girl meets boy ...they fall in love.
Only problem is: the girl, Julia, is going to get married to someone, Glenn the rich boyfriend, who she doesn't love.
The wedding singer, Robbie, gets dumped at his own wedding, and helps Julia plan her wedding; thats when they fall in love.
This is a fun movie with lots of passion from the actors, and leaves you smiling in the end.

Movie Review: Smart, Romantic comedy!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Adam Sandler plays Robbie Hart, an all-around nice guy who's profession is singing at people's weddings. Robbie is devastated when his fiancée, Linda, leaves him at the alter on their wedding day. His loneliness tranforms him into a careless guy who only ruins people's weddings. When Robbie meets Julia, a waitress at the banquet hall, he begins to believe in love again, and falls helplessly in love with Juila. Only one catch: Julia's getting married-and she doesn't know her fiancé is cheating on her. It's up to Robbie to stop Julia's wedding before he looses her for good! "The Wedding Singer" is a hilarious romantic comedy, with a great screenplay, great performances by the cast, and a rockin' soundtrack! This is a movie you cannot miss! The message it brings is so charming: if you love someone, go for them! So if you're in the mood for romance, comedy, or both, watch "The Wedding Singer" for pure 100% fun, romance and laughs!
