I greatly enjoyed watching this on Masterpiece Theatre and I knew that when it came out on DVD, I would have to purchase it. It is a fantastic adaptation of Trollope's tale of the world in the 1870's where greed and corruption as well as nonsense was rampant. It was a delightful comedy that any adult, no matter the age can enjoy.Movie Review: Fabulous!

This is an excellent production. The acting by both Matthew McFadden and David Suchet along with a brilliant supporting cast is amazing and a joy to behold. The movie is full of laughs but also a bit unnerving at times by all the greed and malice. It is a true delight to watch. Not much to say here, except get it, you won't regret it... excellent viewing and easy to understand accents (thank goodness!) along with stunning visuals! I purchased this for Matthew MacFadyen's performance also. He was completely opposite his roles in Spooks and P&P. I loved it. Laughed my way thru this movie.
I don't get the ending for Sir Felix. Did Mr. Brown set him up so he could gamble. I don't get it, what's he suppose to be doing.

My wife wanted this movie for a while so I ordered it for her not expecting much. Well, it kept me captivated throughout the movie, the acting is excellent, and so is the plot. If you enjoy period movies, you cannot go wrong with this movie!
