Movie Review: Love is Lovely and Complicated

The first rate sets, costumes and acting provide a lovely context for this complex web of love stories. Here are several love triangles that intersect and overlap.
The plot lines took twists and turns like many great novels.
From these hours a fascinating drama the various facets of human love were explored and exposed. Is it any wonder that romance can never fit nicely in any box?
Power, sex and romance are as powerful today as they have been anytime in history. And that makes the title of this movie all the more important.
Movie Review: So Much Like Today's Headlines!
Summary: 5 Stars
Powerful financier, Augustus Melmotte, has investors nodding their heads in agreement with him, with one exception. Good vs. evil. This is a man nobody could love. He 'got rid of' his daughter's mother and beats his daughter when he isn't trying to marry her off for financial gain or hide his money under her name to keep investors from having access to it.
The characters are enjoyable. It's fun to hate the bad guys and want to protect the innocent. The story kept my interest all the way to the very impressive ending.

EXCELLENT PERIOD PIECE - I watch many, many period piece movies and series. I see excellent costumes true to their period. Also, I look for furniture, decoration on room walls, outside grounds, clarity of voice and brightness of coloring, not just how the characters play their parts. I only give 5 stars when a movie or series passes all the tests, and I feel this one deserves a 5.

Movie Review: This is the Best..It actually changed my life (i am serious!

First of all, I am rarely a fan of shows with British accents, etc. But this mini-series is unbelivable. It has actually changed my life. I watched this series by accident but am very proud i did. THe way the characters are portrayed I was able to see very clearly how different type of people deal with the same situation. Now after watching it I am also looking at world with many lenses.Highly recommended.

I've been watching the series on PBS, and it is just simply wonderful! I have a fondness for films set in this era, but other than my bias, i really enjoyed this film. And, no, im not some older woman, im 21, and i still liked it very much, even though i am a bit desensitized from growing up in front of the television. So, YES i would recommend this film!!!
