Movie Review: Excellent Rendition of Jesus
Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best depiction of Jesus Christ I have ever viewed. Jesus is portrayed as a happy and very compassionate man. Any other video I have seen shows Jesus as either a whimp, or arrogant with little or no compassion. This is definitely different. When Jesus is shown with the woman from Sidon or telling Matthew to "follow me", He shows such compassion. The movie shows the way you pictured it would be when Jesus interacted with people. This film is word-for-word NIV (would have preferred a more word-for-word translation was used, as opposed to the thought-for-thought NIV, but its not a huge deal).
The portrayal of Christ is one filled with love, compassion, pity and broken-heartedness...not the typical portrayal of a stoic, unsympathetic Jesus.
I FULLY recommend this to those longing to be closer to the real Jesus Christ.

Too often, Jesus has been portrayed as stiff, overly serious and moody. Not here! Jesus is portrayed here as funny, friendly, compassionate, serious at times ... and yet free to smile and occasionally deliver lines with a wink. This helps put many passages of Matthew into perspective and illuminates his intended meaning. This movie is a must see for all who want to get to know Jesus better. This is the one of the best Christian movies I've ever seen. It is the entire book of Matthew word for word. When you are watching it at the bottom right corner it shows the chapter and verse that is being said. I also love the way Jesus is potrayed in this movie. Very well done. This is a great veiw of how Jesus and the people at His time reacted to him. When He healed, people were thrilled and happy and reacted to His strength and power. Also reveiled how disapointed Jesus is when we don't obey him, He is very saddened and weeps. Glad we bought it and are passing it around to our friends. Be ware, it is 4 hours long but is so interesting it goes by fast.
