Movie Review: The "REAL" Jesus

This film reveals a Jesus far different than the serious and detached version one usually sees in other films. In this four hour, word-for-word, account of "Matthew", Bruce Marchiano remarkably portrays Jesus as who He was - a first century Jewish man...compassionate...loving...giving...sorrowful
...joyful...REAL! Even his appearance was "real" - weather beaten...slightly dirty tunic...hair flying. I highly recommend this film - you'll fall in love with this Jesus. I understand that Bruce has plans to produce "The Gospel According to John" but needs support - I hope he gets it because we need another film as "real" and as good as "Matthew"!

This is the best Scriptural account of the life of Jesus I have ever seen.
It portrays Jesus as loving, friendly and human as well as Divine with a joyful sense of humor, human emotions but with a firm and authoritative presence. It was initially given to me as a gift. I consider it a treasured gift to give someone. It comes with two DVDsVisual Bible - Matthew. One can be watched during the Christmas season and the other during the Easter season. It is so inspirational and can be watched over and over.
Movie Review: Excellent production

We greatly enjoy this production of Matthew. It uses the word-for-word text (NIV) and portrays the story as if Matthew was narrating it to a scribe and a young boy. This makes for a nice transition between scenes of Jesus and the disciples. The actor who portrays Jesus conveys an excellent combination of compassion and truth, joy and sorrow, hope and concern, boldness and gentleness. It is a much more joyful and loving portrayal than The Gospel of John version. If they had made more of this Visual Bible series (other than Matthew and Acts), we would have bought them all.Movie Review: An excellent tool for Bible teaching....

My wife and I are using the "Visual Bible - Matthew" in a Bible study. We both agree that it is fantastic. The actor portraying Jesus is superb. This is not the Jesus with the lamb under his arm...and a dour continence. This is a joyful Jesus, loving and kind...and playful with his disciples. Yet his continence completely changes when he speaks with the Pharasees...and you can feel his anger - and his pain - through the screen. We highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about God's word, through God's word.Movie Review: Matthew

Very impressed with the speed of delivery.
Very good productions depicting the the Gospel according to Matthew in the Bible. Complete with scripture numbers down the side of the screeen. Cool.
