Movie Review: filmed in 21 days on a budget of $1 million

I agree with whoever said forget about the negative reviews. And the nitpicking about wigs and whatnot. Some of the negative comments I've seen are more about egotripping than they are about the film's basic energy. I would even go to say that if you don't like this film, there might be something wrong with you. The Trip is like a shot in the arm. Hats off to Miles Swain for his first production. The interaction between the actors is excellent, especially the main characters Alan and Tommy. Actors Sirena Irwin and Jill St. John are excellent. I've seen this film 10 times and 3 times with running commentary. I'm no film piker. I like Speilberg, Fellini, Soderbergh, Forman, Schlesinger and many other directors. A film doesn't have to be great to be enormously entertaining.Movie Review: THE TRIP IS A GREAT JOURNEY

I received and watched the great film THE TRIP yesterday. The story is very moving, all the actors are wonderfully involved in their roles and the final "TRIP" itself is a real adventure.
THE TRIP was very eloquently reviewed by Amazon's three main reviewers, but I was just puzzled why the film is presented on DVD in full screen only (even the main title is not wholly shown) when the disc cover says "1.77:1 anamorphically enhanced", and Amazon's site details say "Fullscreen and Widescreen"!!! The trailer is in Widescreen but why is the film not presented as stated. (There is no access in the Menu to obtain the correct ratio).
Any answers please, tla-releasing??? THE TRIP well-deserves better treatment and wider publicity.
Movie Review: I recommend taking this trip...

I was really surprised by this movie. The selection of each actor was done extremely well and each added to the quality of this film. After watching the movie, I was stunned for a good hour just thinking back to my first experience, the emotions I had, remembering the struggles of that time for gay people. I watched the movie again because I was so engrossed in it the first time, I knew I must have missed something - and I was right. This movie honestly made me laugh and, at the end, cry. It is rare that a movie, and the actors of that movie, can pull a viewer in so easily and make them feel like they are seeing the events first hand. I think this movie was one such film. I would highly recommend purchasing (or at least renting) this film and experience it for yourself!Movie Review: one of the best romantic gay movies ever.

when i finally saw the trip i thought what a great movie, it was so moving
and romantic that i couldn't help but cry at surten moments. when tommy
leaves alan after finding out that he wrote the straight truth was so heart breaking, and when alan finds out that tommy was sick, and at the
end when tommy........well for the people who hasn't seen it i'll just let
them see it for themselves but this movie was so moving. i never seen a
movie like this before, most of the gay movies i've seen always had some
one who's gay getting bashed or killed and it always made me sad and horrorified because in this day and ago people should learn to love each
other (black, white, gay or straight) we are all people.
Movie Review: Great movie to watch with somebody special!

I rented this movie to see if I wanted to buy it. I came to the conclusion that is is a must see for everybody who has loved, and lost. There were a lot of great scenes showing the early gay rights movement, that were very nostalgic and fun to watch. I enjoyed the progression of the movie, less the bad wigs.The only thing I did not enjoy about the movie was the lack of detail about the actual trip. They spent more time on the back story than they did the trip, for which the movie was named. However, there is a very funny striptease scene to watch for.
If you enjoyed this movie I wold also recommend a film called "Get Real," same theme different settings and plot. If you enjoy movies with this theme, I recommend both movies to you.
