Movie Reviews of The TitanicMovie Review: Titanic [Hallmark] 2004 Released DVD 180 Minutes Summary: 5 Stars
Titanic [Hallmark/American Zetrope Production]
2004 Released DVD, 180 Minutes.
Originally a made for television 2 part film.
Both parts on are on one DVD. Approx. 90 minutes each.
Stars (a young) Catherine Zeta-Jones, Peter Gallagher, Marilu Henner, George C. Scott, Eva Marie Saint, Mike Doyle, Sonsee Ahray, Felicity Waterman. Directed by Robert Lieberman. The film is Unrated. The DVD insert claims 'rated for all ages', but there is sex scenes and a rape scene. The special effects are very good, though not as elaborate as the James Cameron film version. This film is very well acted and I found the story line more interesting than the 'dwelling on one love story/chick flick' Cameron version. If only the amazing special effects and this films story line were combined as one....
Movie Review: Great movie but has the dvd been edited???? Summary: 5 Stars
My vhs copy runs at exactly 3 hours but the dvd version only runs at 2 hours and 53 minutes. It's lacking 7 minutes somewhere. The DVD case says it has a running time of 3 hours but it doesn't. If your looking to buy this movie please understand that by buying the VHS version you will be getting the extra 7 minutes that seemed to have disappeared on the dvd cut. Other than that the movie is great for a tv mini series and Catherine Zeta Jones did a fine job playing the adulteress Woman that just couldn't be faithful to her man while being alone with other men on an unsinkable ship 4 days before it sank. Great movie.
Movie Review: Pleasently surprised Summary: 5 Stars
I had no idea this version of the Titanic existed until this year. I now own 4 movies about the Titanic, including "A Night to Remember - 1958", "Titanic - 1953", "The Titanic - 1996", and of course "Titanic - 1997 with Leonardo DeCaprio".
I rate all 4 movies with a 5. They are all done remarkably well and each brings it's own interpritation to this trajic story. For this version, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Peter Gallagher, Merilu Henner, George C. Scott, their acting is fantastic. as always they deliver a stunning performance. If you liked any one of the Titanic Movies, I recommend getting them all.
Movie Review: Poignant and Worth Watching Summary: 5 Stars
It is true that this movie was totally overshadowed by the Cameron Mitchell film, and that is too bad. I had seen Mitchell's film and a few months later this movie was on television, I was blown away! A lot of facts in regard to the real Titanic were incorporated in this movie and the acting superb! I have been interested in Titanic long before the Cameron Mitchell film made it popular and I will tell you this is a must see! By the way, I just got back from Halifax where many of the bodies are buried.
Movie Review: A MUST SEE! Summary: 5 Stars
This version of Titanic is my favorite. I like it better than the version with Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet. This version is more factual instead of a "fairy tale". However, this movie still provides all the excitement of romance
