Movie Review: If You Love '60s Doris Day, You'll Love This Comedy

This is classic Doris Day--a stay-at-home mother who suddenly becomes famous by doing soap commercials. It plays like a big-screen sitcom that has great production values, a fantastic supporting cast and, best of all, is a hilarious commentary on the TV business. Carl Reiner's satirical short scenes of "TV shows" are inserted throughout and helps offset the sweet home-life comedy that comes from Day's screen children. It's all just right and worth watching over and over.Movie Review: Doris Day at her best!

There are a lot of hilarious inside jokes in this divine comedy.And the filming is done so beautifully, all the colors come alive. There is a genuine chemistry between these two film ledgends (James Garner is so much hotter than Rock Hudson and much more believable to watch when paired with Day).This is the consumate Doris Day romantic comedy, and it's actually funny in a grown up, PG rated kinda way. I found my treasured movie in a reduced, to be discarded dvd bin at Walmart about three months ago for the bargain price of $5.00. Being a teen in this era, I loved, & still do enjoy watching James Garner & Doris Day movies. Although the story line maybe a bit corney, it is still refreshing to be able to watch this movie with a preteen. Over all, I found "The Thrill of it all" was quite entertaining & I laughed out loud when the car went into the sudsy pool.Movie Review: Cute Feel Good Comedy Movie!

The Thrill Of It All is one of my favorite movies and at a tie with Pillow Talk as my favorite #1 Doris day movie and I think this is a very charming cute movie and what I think as a great feel good movie to watch when you are sick or feeling a little down in the dumps! Doris Day and James Garner are great and the kids are really cute, especially Kym Kareth who is famous for playing little Gretel Von trapp in the movie The Sound Of Music.Movie Review: Doris Day at her Best!!!

I can't believe that there was ever a time when women were expected to be housewives and not work! And furthermore this movie purports that women can't have it all, that the husband and children come first. However, the charm of this movie is the chemistry between Doris Day and James Garner and their comedic antics. I laughed myself silly throughout the movie. If laughter is what you're after, this is the perfect vehicle.
