Movie Reviews of The Three MusketeersMovie Review: One of my favorites Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoy clean movies and although this one has sonme definite incinuations (Richelu trying to seduce the queen) it maintains a pretty high, though not 100%, purity. No bedroom scenes (which I think the man in the iron mask could have done without) If you want clean this is much better than the man in the iron mask. Simply compare the Porthos's!! this movie's porthos is MUCH more to my taste (as I said I like my movies clean) but was Chris O'donnel supposed to be the one intended for viewers (girls) to drool over? If so, mark missed. Charlie Sheen was so good looking in this movie, it wasn't funny. He was the best at romanticising as well. And who can forget when his beautiful theology student starts kissing him in the middle of a lesson!! Aramis: I'm flattered madam, but I am here to tutor you in theology woman: I'm sorry, but when you were talking about original sin I became impassioned and couldn't help myself. It won't happen again. Please continue. Aramis:(changing his mind) Well.... there's nothing unholy about these emotions... (more passionate kissing) (pounding on door) woman: My husband! Aramis: You're Married?!!! woman: Yes I'm married Aramis:We must pray for our sins. (door breaks open and angry husband fires at Aramis, who barely dodges the bullet Aramis: On second thought, God's aweful busy I think he was the best actor in the movie, and definitely the best looking. Well, Porthos was pretty funny too. Anyway, great movie SEE IT
Movie Review: All for one and all for fun! Summary: 5 Stars
A favorite in our house, this movie offers something for everyone. Disney outdid themselves when remaking the classic Alexandre Dumas story. It's been done so many times and very well, but this one was just so much fun. The line up of actors for this film is quite incredible. The starring cast consist of Keifer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Chris O'Donnell, Oliver Platt, Tim Curry, and Rebecca De Mornay. Not only was the cast incredible, the title track All For Love is performed by Sting, Bryan Adams, and Rod Stewart. Can you imagine the cost of making this movie today? This movie resonates the very essence of Action Film. The fighting, racing horses, and dueling almost never end. Did I mention this was an action film? The violence in this film is more by implication than gruesome portrayals of death and fighting. Add to the action a high dose of comedy. Oliver Platt is hilarious as Porthos. Tim Curry adds whit and humor to the evil character of Cardinal Richelieu. The Three Musketeers was filmed on location in Europe which adds a believability that allows the viewer to be swept away into the story. Thousands of extras, hundreds of horses, and beautiful costumes and photography combine to make this a fantastic movie you could watch over and over.
Movie Review: I love this movie... Summary: 5 Stars
I can't found words to express how much I like this film...it's amazing the work of the actors, the script...everething!!!. This is a new version of the classic tale by Alexandre Dumas, on an excellent Disney scale, with Charlie Sheen (Aramis), Kiefer Sutherland (Athos), Oliver Platt (Phortos), Chris O'Donnell (D'Artagnan), Tim Curry(Cardinal Richelieu) and Rebecca De Mornay. This story is about a attractive teenager called D'Artagnan that want to become a Musketeer, but when he arrived to the place where the musketeers used to be, he realaised that they are not more musketeers, that was because the cardenal had disolved them. In not very common and diferent conditions he met three musketeers that late, will be his friends. This is a great film.I saw it at least three times. And I am not regreat. You will found that this film is excellent. And what's more, it's a classic, no??. "ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL" who don't know this famous sentence??.
Movie Review: (promises to be) a timeless classic ! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very entertaining and wholesome swashbuckling adventure-comedy which promises to entertain viewers both young and old. I remember watching this when it first came out in theaters, and I ordered the DVD as soon as it became available. Try watching this and "The Man in the Iron Mask" immediately after to get a feeling of "continuity" of sorts as well as an interesting juxtaposition the two films' respective interpretations of Aramis, Porthos, Athos and Dartagnan.I'm glad that more recent DVD releases such as this one are getting more and more "pumped up" (e.g. with added features such as featurettes, music videos and the like). Pretty soon (hopefully) we might be seeing standard-fare features such as DTS sound and interactive / on-screen bells and whistles (ala Matrix!). In a nutshell : BUY THIS! It's worth it...
Movie Review: All For One... Summary: 5 Stars
Perhaps you have to have grown up with this movie to truly love it, but what the hell, this movie rocks. And mostly because of the cast. Chris O'Donnell plays the young naive blonde-ringletted D'Artagnan-his acting is rather horrible at times, but entertaining nonetheless. Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, and Oliver Platt are excellent as the three musketeers, their interactions always fun and entertaining. Rebecca De Mornay plays an especially beautiful, inticing Lady DeWinter. But the best of all are Michael Wincott as Rochefort and the incredible Tim Curry as Cardinal Richelieu- a little unfair, having the two actors with the sexiest voices in the same movie. Tim Curry is especially evil, and I found that the more i watched this movie the more i rooted for the bad guys- theyre just much more interesting. "All for one...and more for me."
