Movie Reviews of The Thorn Birds

Movie Review: Excellent no matter what version its in (The first one, anyway)
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the video version years ago. I remember when The Thorn Birds first aired on broadcast TV. It was of such good quality. I thought the acting was excellent. I saw it multiple times on TV, and then bought the video when it first came out and was very expensive. I still cry when I watch it. It continues to be hard for me emotionally to get through it, but I watch it at least once a year. But I have to get the DVD, because the video is going the way of the dinosaur...

Movie Review: Great movie
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this movie, Beautiful movie, My daughter got out of work around 5pm I asked her to look at some of the movie with me around 10pm I went to sleep, Around 3 PM I heard my daughter who is 22 yrs old crying and crying I thought something happen bad to her. I run into the TV room to see her still sitting in front of the TV looking at the movie telling me mom it is such a sad movie her eyes puffy red telling me. I love this movie. I had to laugh going back to my bedroom.

Movie Review: Now that your appetite is whetted...
Summary: 5 Stars

Now that your appetite is whetted (those of you who have seen this mini-series/DVD), will someone please start a movement to get "The Thorn Birds, the Missing Years" released on DVD? We all waited so long for the original. I hope we don't have to wait as long for the sequel. Over the years, as I have seen them run on television sequentially, I have learned to love the sequel almost as much as the original. It feels like a necessary part of the story to me.

Movie Review: One of the best miniseries made
Summary: 5 Stars

I have waited for a long time for the thorn birds DVD to come out.I love watching it as miniseries when it first came out in 1983 i was 12 when i seen it.Its my favourite miniseries and its one of the best miniseries i have seen.Wonderfully directed with Gorgeous music.I love it.I highly recommend to buy it.Father Ralph i mean Richard chamberlain is one of the best actors i have seen his my favourite and Meggie as Rachel ward is one of the best actress i have seen.

Movie Review: Simply the best
Summary: 5 Stars

I first watched this miniseries as a girl and have watched it once a year since. I own the VHS tapes although they are of poor quality and were much more expensive. Meggie was a Cleary, not a Carson, and Mary Carson was her aunt. Every actor in this production is excellent and the two main characters captivate you with their struggle. It is long but you will not be bored. After all these years, this remains my very favorite film and I am always touched.
