Movie Review: bad luck for a great sci-fi flick
Summary: 5 Stars
Released just a few weeks after The Matrix, this movie is constantly in it's shadow because of the similar premise: computerized environments. However, unlike the matrix, this is a suspense/drama instead of an action movie. It is about the investigation into a murder where a programmer needs to enter the computerized world to solve the mystery. The movie is well written, and I enjoyed it very much.Movie Review: One of my favorite movies

I like sci-fi. I despise horror. I don't like super natural movies. This movie has a premise/plot like nothing else that I can think of. I thought the acting was excellent. The CG is good. I like the different color themes for the different periods. I would also say that I think Mol is one of the top 10 beautiful women ever. I could look at her all day. A wonderful movie. Like the other reviewers, I was led to believe it was a concept without execution. As I was watching it, I thought it was a film noir homage. Fair enough. It was, but it played off of this homage very nicely and created a complex, well-executed concept movie. Do yourself a favor: Watch it, wait a day, then watch it again. I have to admit that after seeing the trailers in the cinema for this, I had no wish to see it, but I rented it today on DVD and was very impressed. Another review mentions the Dark City reference, which is one that I'd agree with. Visually, it is stunning. Those who will enjoy the film in 5.1 will be pleased. After my friends and I saw this movie, we were all blow away at the fact of a virtual world and ramifications throughout the movie. Although it has a similar theme like that of the Matrix, it appoaches it in a totaly different way and amazes even the most scrutinizing movie goer -- I highly recommend it.
