Movie Reviews of The Ten Commandments (50th Anniversary Collection)Movie Review: Mother's Day Gift Summary: 5 StarsI ordered this for my mom for Mother's Day this year (2008). She LOVES it! It only took about 4-5 days to come in!
Movie Review: Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down Summary: 2 StarsReviewing Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 classic would be anticlimactic to say the least ~ I doubt anyone reading this hasn't already seen it (probably several times) and formed his own opinion. The 1923 original is another matter.
The same attention to detail is given to sets and costumes, but not only is the whole substantially shorter than the 1956 masterpiece, only half of the movie tells the story of Moses. Part II is an early 20th century melodramatic morality tale based upon the damage done by violating the commandments given in Part I.
There is a historical value in seeing what DeMille did his first time around, but the odds that you'll ever bother watching the first version a second time are slim.
Movie Review: A Classic Summary: 5 StarsNo matter how many times I see this movie, I enjoy it every time! The cast is spectacular as is the set. If you haven't seen it, don't miss it.
Movie Review: A great film - and time to watch it! Summary: 5 StarsI always loved trying watching this movie, but it's very long and if you add TV commercials? -who can allow all that time and stay up that late? Having the DVD allows me to share one of my favorites with my children and we can watch it at our convenience - with as many breaks as needed. I catch more details each time I watch it - a truly great film to share with the family!
Movie Review: very moving Summary: 5 StarsGreat classic that everyone has probably seen but this collection has the silent film as well which I had never seen.
