Burton is inspired as ever. Liz is no Shakespearean actor but, like the Zeffirelli production, stunningly beautiful and great to watch. This movie is a classic. It is one that I have wanted to get for ages. The chemistry between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton makes the whole movie that much more exciting. I first saw this movie, as a child, and I just had to add it to my collection. Burton/Taylor are so perfectly cast in their roles, I really can not imagine other actors in those parts. I think a young Michael York does a good job with his small part, too.Movie Review: Great Movie

It's a great movie adaptation. Burton is especially charismatic as Petrucchio, stealing every scene. Taylor is less mesmerizing as Katerina, as the role really calls for a younger actress--but she manages as well as possible under an age handicap.
