Movie Reviews of The SundownersMovie Review: Life Goes On Summary: 4 Stars
Australia back in the 1920s, is just a tad different than it is today. Consider, your a drover and you have to bring 1200 sheep through the unforgiving outback. Doesn't sound difficult? Welcome to reality. The physical drain to perform this task would put almost anyone down and then add the personal problems faced by the drover and his wife who would really like to have her own place; but, the husband is bound by his wanderlust. See the problem? To arrive at an equitable solution is going to take a lot of give and take on the part of the people concerned. How they come to an agreement, you'll just have to see the film.
Movie Review: The Sundowners Summary: 4 Stars
The Sundowners with Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr in the lead roles is a wonderful, family movie that depicts a time gone by in Australia. As an older movie, it has what many modern movies do not - heart, a genuinely good story and a reminder of strong family values. The trend these days is to stay more home-bound, appreciate what we have and learn to make do in tough times. This timeless movie fits perfectly with this trend. It wraps comfortably around you like a warm blanket.
Movie Review: Brings back old memories Summary: 4 Stars
The thing I love about Amazon is that I can find 99% of the old movies I once enjoyed and thought were lost forever.
This movie was one I wanted to see again and was so happy to find it. It is a "feel good" kind of movie, has a great cast and we enjoyed watching it.
Movie Review: The Australian Outback Summary: 4 Stars
This movie has great actors and excellent pictures from the grandios Australian landscapes. The story is based on a novel by Jon Cleary and gives a realistic picture of a family on the move. Very entertaining, recommendable.

Movie Review: Star Performances Are Better Than the Film Summary: 3 Stars
The movie takes place in the outback of Australia. It is about an itinerant family of sheep tenders: Deborah Kerr, Robert Mitchem, and friend Peter Ustinov. The scenery and the acting is far better than the movie plot itself. With lessor actors, this would have a totally boring movie, but with these fine actors, it is pretty good. I give it 4 stars for acting and 2 for everything else. A movie that should be reserved for TV.
