Movie Reviews of The Simpsons Movie (Full Screen Edition)

Movie Review: WOO-HOOO!!!
Summary: 4 Stars

When it comes to the movies that have entered the Summer race in 2007, most of them have been only about the sequels from franchises. While there have been so many, others haven't delivered like Evan Almighty, and Harry Potter. Surprisingly, animated films have all been overlooked for the past several years, but with films like Shrek The Third have been funny and entertaining. One of the biggest surprises of course has been from television. The Simpsons have been one of the most entertaining cartoon series of all time, but the past several years, the show has lost its luster needs of a jolt. Homer, Bart and company have finally made it to the big screen, but is this what the series needed to new fans and die hard Fox fans wanted?

The Simpsons movie, really delivers more of the irreverant and laughable humor that has been needed from what The Simpsons has missed out on awhile on television. This film, mainly shows Homer, Bart, Marge & Lisa looking for life and love in all the strange but weird places. The movie plays out like a full-length episode of the series well. The story of the movie is that during the day the clan heads off to church, where they are criticized for being late, and Grandpa Simpson predicts an warning sign of the end of Springfield. Along the way, Homer takes in a pig who he loves and endures as a replacement for Bart. Bart finds solice with his neighbors, Ned Flanders and his kids. As Homer's love for his pig comes into play, he abruptly cleans up the pigs' droppings by dumping it into Lake Springfield. Suddenly, the town is declared a hazardous waste site by the EPA, and gets shielded into a dome to keep the town into isolation from the world.

Abruptly, the town turns to rioting against The Simpsons and they flee out of the dome, and head to Alaska to try a new life, but with the town in shambles from food and supplies, Homer feels the blame, and Marge, Lisa and Bart put the heat on Homer, by heading back home to help the town out. Feeling the guilt, Homer heads back and helps out and tries to save his town, and the people who love him from an outrageous bomb threat that would destroy the town, and would've turned Springfield into the second Grand Canyon. Although, I was wishing from more interaction from the reliable cast with The Simpsons clan including more from Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner, and the cast of characters that made the show just as goofy as we've grown up with, but it works nicely.

All In all, The Simpsons Movie is so far one of the best films to check out this Summer that really is worth the wait, and keeps the joyous laughter nicely and revives it most of the way. Even a surprise guest appearance from Green Day at the beginning, performing the theme song their way, and getting booed for talking about the environment is handled with joy and humor as funny as you'd expect delivers. I absolutely was reminded how much I forgot about the love and warmth The Simpsons was missed for so long, and I really like the film. See it at the big screen. Woo-HOO, but not a complete, D'oh!!
