Movie Reviews of The Shadow Riders

Movie Review: Above average shoot-em-up!
Summary: 4 Stars

While away fighting the Civil War (Tom Sellick for the Union and Sam Elliot for the Confederacy), Sam's wife (Catherine Ross) and family are kidnapped by Confederate Raiders intent on selling them in Mexico to finance their ongoing war. Tom & Sam are reunited and off to the rescue! Good, above average western with some funny scenes, some drama, and lots of good old fashioned shooting the bad guys!

Movie Review: finally a proper HIGH quality version on DVD!
Summary: 4 Stars

this latest ( I think there have been 3 versions previous) on SONY 2008 is night and day better quality than all the previous "official" and "digitally remastered versions which were blurry, mudddy, dark sludge! The movie and story have been debated plenty on this site so I'll just stick with letting fans know...this IS the version to get...by a LONG shot!

Movie Review: THE SHADOW RIDERS
Summary: 4 Stars

THIS IS A WELL DONE MOVIE, A MUST HAVE FOR THE LOUIS LAMORE FAN, NOT TO MENTION THAT SELLECK AND ELLIOTT ARE GREAT COWBOYS IN THE MOVIES. I WAS GLAD THAT I BOUGHT THE MOVIE.

Movie Review: Typical Tom & Sam
Summary: 4 Stars

If you like westerns, you will really enjoy this one. Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott do it up real good. This is another must have in my collection.

Movie Review: typical of '80s movies
Summary: 3 Stars

I am a fan of Tom Selleck westerns and have seen all of his later (western) movies so I decided to buy this earlier movie that I have not yet seen. The movies were typical '80s faire (as viewed from 2010!). Lighting, sound, camera action all had a decidedly 'amateurish' feel. Selleck was the only actor of any credibility in the cast, even Sam Elliott has a long way to go in his career at this point. Overall, however, I enjoyed watching the movie. It was easy-going with non-offensive language.
