Movie Review: Lamour book turns out to be a good movie

As a longtime reader of Louis Lamour I was interested in how this book would turn out as a movie. This is a well told story with believable actors helping to tell the tale. Tom Selleck and Sam Eliot fit the bill. Katherine Ross and Ben Johnson add their sides to the story. Sometimes a book just doesn't make a good movie but this is plesantly the exceptiion. This movie delivered everything I expected and then some. There is great action, humor and drama. As a long time fan of westerns it is my opinion that you can not go wrong with either Tom Selleck or Sam Elliott and having both of them together is double the delight. I loved westerns since I was a kid. John Wayne was king for me when it came to the western genre. I believe two new stars have risen on the frontier; Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott. Great DVD of The Shadow Riders, always love Louis L'Amour movies, pity they didn't do a few more movies of his books. Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott were very good. Thank you for getting it to us very quickly, we really enjoyed it.

Very good western. Typical of any Louis L'Amour stories-good and interesting. Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott are very good together as they are in the Sackett movies. When you throw in Ben Johnson, you have a great mix.
