Movie Reviews of The Secret Garden

Movie Review: Wonderful Film
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great film, I loved it as a child and still enjoy it now. The Secret Garden is still the simple story of two children looking for a love that they dont have.

Don't miss this version of the Secre Garden!

Movie Review: Enjoyable and entertaining. Pleasant and heartwarming. Massive "props". (:blog lingo:)
Summary: 5 Stars

I had been eying this movie up for quite a while on the shelf of my local library... and finally rented it. Took it home, expecting it to be vauge and lackluster, but was shocked and *pleasantly* surprised to see that it had great charm, beauty, and belivablilty.

Mary is portrayed not as cynical and spoiled brat, but rather more in the light of the child lacking in the love and compassion of her father and mother. The scenery? Simply magnificent. As for the magic... it simply puts this movie into more of the fairy tale genre. (C'mon, nobody minds The Little Mermaid? Aladdin? Beauty and the Beast?) A little discretion from you parents though is wise... I mean, the rating IS pg, you should be able to explain to your kids the foolishness and folly of magic.

And guys? I should know whether to negate it because of love for the book. I read the it 4+ times.

Hope you enjoy it. I did. Very much.

Movie Review: A lesson of love and will!
Summary: 5 Stars

"All men can do anything, if they will" seems to be the final statement of this captivating picture, carefully directed by Agnieszka Holland, one of the major female directors in the world.

This absorbing drama turns around the lives and times of three children who will meet each one another and exchange livings and fortunate encounters.

On one hand, our little girl will know the world is not turning around her; and her initial solitude will be rewarded when she found out a hiddden that will make her dreams come true, and finally she will the one in order to impluse and bring back her cousin to the life.

A triumph of the cinema and definitively one of my top twenty best films of the Nineties.

Movie Review: Martha and Mary Are great actors!
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow! What a great movie this is! I thought Mary and Martha were perfect for this movie. The strict Mrs. Medlock turned out to be happy for Colin at the end. I liked that. My family loves this movie. My moms favorite character was Dickon. Mine were Mary, and Martha. My dads was Colin. I told my parents to sit down and watch this. So I ploped the VHS in and we Loved it!

Movie Review: A Job Well Done is Worth Buying
Summary: 5 Stars

I remember when I was younger and watched the 1987 Hallmark version, and was too young to understand the low quality acting portrayed in the movie. However I was enchanted with the story at that age. However now that I'm older and have seen it again, I do not think I like it that much. So I came to this version very skeptical. However I should've known that Warner Brothers would have pulled it off. They changed the story a bit, making it an earthquake instead of cholera that killed Mary's parents, however it's a minor detail that I think could afford to have been changed. Warner Brothers even kept the British Alchemical symbolism strong in it, which I'm quite pleased with. Over all the acting and setting blew me away and trust me, it's quite well worth buying. As I always say, a job well done is worth buying. You won't be sorry for buying this treasure to add to your cove.
