Movie Reviews of The Second Jungle BookMovie Review: Great Adventure!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is absolutely great. My parents recently bought it on DVD and we all watched it. It's a great movie which would deserve a higher rating. Many people said that it is boring. I think they have said that because in the first 20 minutes of the movie no one is talking plus Mowgli isn't talking. Well guess WHAT, Mowgli isn't supposed to talk because he was raised by wolves. DUH!! So I really think people should give this movie a higher rating. This movie is the second jungle book movie where Mowgli finds himself wanted for a circus. Baloo and his other friends want to rescue him and save him. This is a good movie and demands our attention. I suggest that everyone should buy it or at least rent it. I am grateful my parents bought it for me. It's GREAT!!!!
Movie Review: Although not by Kipling this is a delightful story Summary: 4 Stars
Despite its three-part title, this film is not written by Kipling, is not from his Second Jungle Book, and does not focus on Mowgli and Baloo. Yet, as the video cover states, it is a film that "the entire family will love."
The story in the film is entirely new, although some very small references are made to Kipling's first Jungle Book, but not the second. There are radical changes from Kipling's portrayal of the jungle boy and his friends. While the books tell of Mowgli talking to and listening to his animal family and friends, who teach him, the film has him and the animals only grunt and howl; and this together with hand gestures are the only apparent means of communication. While the python is a friend of Mowgli in the first Jungle Book, he is an adversary in this film.
This new tale is about Mowgli when he was ten years old in the jungle in India. His human parents are dead and, unknown to him, his uncle wants him dead so that he can inherit their financial fortune. An American sees Mowgli and wants to capture him to display him at the Barnum and Bailey Circus. The tiger that dies in book one, is after him trying to kill him in this film. A trained monkey escapes from its owner, is captured by the detested monkeys - as Mowgli is in book one - and Mowgli rushes to recue it. When he is in trouble, his animal friends come to help him. Their role in this film is only to scare the monkeys and humans, not "God forbid" to kill them.
Movie Review: I have to agree... Summary: 2 Stars
The effects were poor at times, and you could make out the stunt man in one or two shots. Even for a kids move the story line was very poor and did at times seem to come close to racism. They could have made up for the lack of action with more laughs. THE only thing good about this movie was the young actor, Jamie, who did a great, believable, job in his role. (Although my youngest did find it odd that a wild boy-living with wolves since he was a toddler was able to speak in one scene.)
Movie Review: TERRIBLY MADE Summary: 1 Stars
I have no idea why I saw this movie in the first place, perhaps it was because The Jungle Book is a fascinating story. However I was realy dissapointed not only is the film boring but it is very silly
(in a stupid way). The action scenes were terrible. I recommend this movie to 6 year olds who dont care about the quality of movies.
