Movie Review: Spectacular - I Love This Movie!

I'm so glad I've got this film in HD!
I can't help but be compelled to view this film multiple times - it's just that captivating! When I say it's just that captivating, I'm talking about the film itself, not just the HD transfer, but thank God for HD!
The transfer of audio and video is top quality...vivid high resolution images and crystal clear (Dolby Digital Plus 1.0) audio!
The cast in this film is perfect. The locations (Texas, as portrayed by Utah) are stunning. Max Steiner's musical score is perfect. "The Searchers" truly is a masterpiece!
I love the way it opens...I love the way it closes...I love everything about this movie!

I read the reviews and got the HD DVD and was not disappointed at all!! Even though this is not John Wayne's best performance, the scenery is really worth seeing in HD. Watched the whole thing that afternoon when it came in the mail. I didn't intend to, but was taken by how good it looked especially considering how old the film was. One word... WOW! When this High Definition dust settles, we're in for some eye popping films at home. If you like westerns, give this one some consideration.Movie Review: amazing HD pictures for a great western

I will never say "the searchers" is the best western movie ever but it belongs to the high end category.It is up to yr tastes.
HD has made out of this 1956 movie something totaly amazing.it is a blast.
This is realy a piece to own in yr HD DVD collection.
The weakness and there is one depite the five star rating...the sound is excellent but is mono...so if you switch from Transformers or starwars you will feel something is missing in yr living room...

It's like a time machine back to 1956! This movie just pops off the screen in Technicolor and VistaVision. Probably looks better than when it was shown 50 years ago. Nice Special features with vintage actor interviews and a theatrical trailer. The Duke is too cool. They don't make them like him anymore. Excellent Transfer!
