Movie Review: Stunning, Stunning, Stunning

This re-mastering is just amazing. The color and picture quality are jaw-dropping, the cinematography breath-taking. Not all movies are deserving of such lavish efforts, but this one of course is. I'd recently seen North By Northwest in BluRay and was only mildly impressed with the re-mastering of this classic, but from the very beginning this dvd blew me away. As others have stated, it was possible to achieve very high quality results 50 and more years ago. A great classic, very rewarding to watch, very high production values, Ford's great achievement worthy of every collection.Movie Review: Fantastic Movie - STUNNING HD

You've seen the reviews for the all-time classic movie itself and I totally concur. It is John Wayne and John Ford at their finest hour. But you might have some preconception that this is one of those grainy, old films you used to see on TV. Please, remove that thought from your mind. This is one of the finest examples of the power of HD I have ever seen. You can thank VistaVision for that, one of the best film formats ever. I won't review the movie itself, because plenty of other people have already done so. I'm just here to say that the Blu-Ray transfer is amazing. For a movie made over 50 years ago, it has and will probably never look better. And for $8, it is a steal. It's great for showing off what Blu-Ray can really do for an older film. For such an incredibly low price, lower than the standard DVD, I can't think of any reason for you not to buy this movie...unless you just don't like the movie itself...Movie Review: AWESOME!

I never saw the film until this BLU RAY release and I must say...this DVD is worth it's weight in gold. The West never looked better and JOHN FORD made sure of that! Wayne gives an Oscar worthy performance AND yes...he was a great actor! GREAT performances from the whole cast and I was really surprised by JEFF HUNTER! Natalie Wood was fresh from REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE and her sister Lana played Debbie as a small child. All GREAT stuff! GREAT extras too!Movie Review: Just add to your collection

A classic piece of John Ford cinematography that anyone owning a BluRay player would be proud to have in their collection. Remember this movie was shot in the 1950s and even today people would be amazed at the work that John Ford put into making this as authentic as possible. The behind the scenes segments were simply unbelievable.
I am proud to own this movie. You should get it because works like this are just not done in modern filmmaking.
