Movie Review: The best of the Frewer Holmes stories and a good movie
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is the best of the Matt Frewer Holmes tales. A combination of two of Doyle's tales into one, it is not half bad. In fact, it is pretty entertaining. Frewer is a little wierd as Holmes but he has gotten away from Max Headroom which came out way to strongly in his "Hound of the Baskervilles." In fact, because the tale is not purely a Doyle tale, it takes us to a new place and that is entertaining and unanticipated. The writing could have been a bit better. Lines from the Canon are thrown in willy-nilly. But this is worth watching. For a real treat watch Dr. Bell and Mr. Doyle - The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes.
