Movie Review: Great inspirational film!
Summary: 5 Stars
I think it is safe to say, there is a love or hate relationship with this movie. It is overt in its message of the gospel. Those who have a love for righteousness and God will enjoy the entire content of this film. Persons who hold animosity toward Jesus will in most cases be offended by its glorification of His life and message. It is a story about faith above all else and about the power of love over evil. The film lacks modern quality and refinement, however the message of Gods power to deliver and change lives is more than enough to redeem it in value. This is a great family film. I can only hope there will once again be films of such moral integrity which grace the screens of American movie theatres.Movie Review: The Robe

A good old-fashioned epic with three exceptional performers of a by-gone era - Burton, Simmons, and Mature. THE ROBE has always been a favorite of mine - even more so now that I am a Born-Again Christian. I watched this movie almost yearly when I was younger. At 55 years old now, THE ROBE does not seem dated to me nor is its original message of salvation through faith lost on me nor my family. Although some of the story (including the love relationship between Burton and Simmons) is fictionalized, this movie (with its "true to life" Biblical references) is still a bright star amongst the constellation of "religious epics" of the 50's and 60's!!!Movie Review: Beautiful restoration of a favorite film

I remember what a thrill it was to see, hear, and experience the first CinimaScope production when it was first shown in theatres. The Alfred Newman music became a best selling LP, and I had to have it. Now, with this DVD, and my new HD TV (and surround sound) the experience is even better. The picture quality if far better than we had with the original movie. The colors are so vivid, the picture so sharp, it's almost like 3D. It is still a great picture, greatly enhanced with today's technology. Just a beautiful thing to see and hear again.Movie Review: Excellent Story of the Early Christians

This movie tells the story of a Roman tribune who takes part in crucifing Jesus Christ. From that point on, his whole being is affected until he has a spiritual transformation. The film was very expensive to make, and the sets are excellent, as are the performances. This movie is much better than most of the movies of this genre. I was surprised I had not heard of it before. I rate it as high or higher than "Ben Hur" and other better known films. This is an excellent film for the whole family to watch!Movie Review: The Robe

Classic movie I saw when I was very young (50 now), and wanted to have in my collection. Love the message and sure does bring back memories. Films like this go most unappreciated by younger people, who have been hypnotized by all the new bells & whistles of the new films. It takes a respect for what they did when they had what they had to do it with! And more often than not, even without the bells & whistles, they did a better job then, than the new films do with them now(in my opinion of course).
