Movie Review: Music over everything?
Summary: 5 Stars
I thoroughly enjoyed the musical side of this DVD. It is gratifying (??) to learn that musicians are really "above" the "mundane" events that occurred just prior to and during WWII. I am not a "bleeding heart" but I do consider myself a "witness" to these poignant years. I am also a great admirer of Fürtwängler and believe that the maestro suffered immensely for the injustice that was done to members of the orchestra!!
I am sure that Bach-Haydn-Mozart and Beethoven had no idea to what demented purpose their immortal music was being utilized!!
