Movie Review: It Is Sweet Sir
Summary: 5 Stars
I love the Punisher. It has always been the most realistic out of all of the popular comic books. A man getting revenge for the death of his family, it is a very possible thing that could happen in real life. This movie brings it with action and drama. As you watch Castle's family die, you feel the rage that Frank is feeling at the time, only waiting until the bad guys meet their certain end.
John Travolta, as usual, is fantastic in this film as the main villain. Everyone on here is great in their role. You cheer for the hero, and you can't wait to see the bad guys die. It takes great acting to pull emotion like that out of an audience and it does that perfectly.
I'm also a fan of and own the original movie The Punisher and I have to say that the 2004 movie, while I love the other, is my favorite between the two. It has more of a background of who Frank is and why he wears the skull T-shirt, which he didn't do in the original movie.
Movie Review: Great revenge/action film

I never saw the Marvel Comics book so I knew absolutely nothing about this character Frank Castle. I rented the movie because I just love John Travolta. Thomas Jane is quite the studly tough man here, but is completely believable. He broods so handsomely throughout the rest of the film. His character is tormented by the deaths of his family and he is out to seek "punishment" not revenge as he calls it. Travolta is fun as the sneering villian and you can tell he really enjoyed his role. He's not an out-right bad villian, but becomes so after the death of one of his twin sons. Yeah ladies, check out the handsome actor playing his twin sons. Plus, he's got one beautiful but vindictive wife in gorgeous Laura Harring. It's a shame that her character was not better developed and had more to do than stand around in sexy outfits. It would have been fun to see her more actively involved in hunting down Castle. Overall, I enjoyed the film as a great action film.Movie Review: The Punishment Has Begun...

I dont' know from where I should start...This is probably The Greatest Film ever made !!! The Dvd Extras are so gripping that you would love to see it over over over again !
The Film...well, there is no doubt about it...It is truely the greatest Big Screen Adaptation of any Marvel Comics Super-Hero till now ! I just love this Film and since the time I have got it from Amazon...I have already watched it 30 times !!! 30 TIMES !!!
Tom Jane really suits the part and along with him everyone else in the cast suit their roles to the 'T'.
The Action Scenes are Mind-Blowing and the Film is gripping right from the opening Credits.
This is a must buy for every Action Hero Lover. I am obsessed with THE PUNISHER 'cause I think he is the greatest there is !!!
Buy this Film and you will realise that Justice Ends...Revenge Lives...And The PUNISHMENT Begins...!!!
Movie Review: If you didn't like it, you probably didn't get it...

Punisher, on its surface is a well perfomed screen interpretation of a comic book vigilante. With low production values, absolutely no cg effects and a mean spirited story, it may be too far removed from the big budget Marvel work like the X Men franchise and Spiderman for most viewers. If this is what you saw and didn't like it, maybe you should consider getting the DVD. In actuality The Punisher as well as being those things already listed, is a tribute to the spaghetti western and to the vigilante films of the 70's and 80's like Death Wish and Invasion USA. Watching this movie a fourth time, after watching the bonus features, I got a much better sense of the movie. There are a hundred other reasons to like or dislike this film but if you like the character, if you wish they made movies "like they used to" or you just have a weakness for vengeance stories, pick up The Punisher.Movie Review: "It's not revenge ....it's Punishment!"

Unlike the comic series, Frank Castle's entire family is wiped out in this film. He plays an undercover FBI agent who's cover
is blown and pays the ultimate price. In the comic it was his wife and children who were destroyed by the mob. This film shows his whole family; aunts, uncles, cousins being shot by assassins. This film even has Roy Schider of Jaws and French Connection fame playing a bit part. I didn't expect to see poor Roy as a casualty in this movie. It's too bad he didn't get a better role. The movie might have been better with him as the black hat role instead of Travolta.
Travolta I have to say didn't get this role too well. He didn't play it like Roy Schider might have because he's a bit more seasoned. I'd have to say the movie was good; had good action scenes, however Travolta was miscast.
