Movie Review: Best Movie of 2004 and Best Comic Book Movie Ever
Summary: 5 Stars
While most people complain about this movie with its violence, they first have to get that this movie is not like other comic book movies that are geared towards every audience. Tom Jane said himself that this movie is geared towards the specific audience of Punisher fans. This movie is definitely the best comic book adaptaion ever. They even did it for significantly less money that all of the rest and did not have to rely on special effects. This fact results in a more intimate and character driven story line and movie. The audience gets onto Frank Castle's side after his family is murdered and he is almost himself. The movie has the perfect combination of action, drama, story, and even comedy. The acting is perfect. Tom Jane is Frank Castle, and I think that this is his best performance so far. He is, in my mind, the greatest actor and deserves a lot more attention than he actually gets. No one else could have been The Punisher other than him.
I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes action, Tom Jane, entertainment, and great movies. Best Picture 2004 right here as well as Best Actor. Can't wait for The Punisher 2.

The Punisher, despite many neutral to negative reviews is--what I believe at least...An Excellent Movie. I Give it 5 stars, its not perfect though. 5 Stars Isnt as Broad as a 10 Scale, I'd give it an 8.5 to 9 In that case. The Punisher is the story of a retiring fed, Frank Castle (Thomas Jane) who is acting undercover to bust an arms dealer, and in the process the citys most powerful man Howard Saint(John Travolta)lost his son. He was accidentally killed during the FBI's bust. Saint then scoops out information on Castle and finds out everything about him, then sends for his henchman to kill Castle and his whole family while Castle is in Puerto Rico visiting his parents and other family. After being brutally sabatoged by Howard's Thugs and presumed dead, Castle--barely living vowes, not for revenge against Howard and his lackies...but Punishment!This movie delivers great action sequences, a compelling story and one of the more renowned Marvel characters getting their silver screen time. I Do admit the dialogue could've been slightly better, but it wasn't that bad. The action is what glues you to the seat. This movie is worth owning.Movie Review: BEST ACTION FILM OF 2004

Based on the origin story "Year One" and Garth Ennis' "Welcome Back Frank," this sleeper hit is for serious fans of the comic. But those who know little of Frank Castle's comic exploits will still have a blast.
Tom Jane is the Punisher, a tough hero bent on punishing those who murdered his family. Jane reminded me of Clint Eastwood. He's ripped and doesn't say much because he doesn't need to. He's that tough. I'm not a big Travolta fan, but he does good. His character Howard Saint is basically Bruno Costa, the Floridian money launderer from the "Year One" comic origin series.
Without question, "The Punisher" is the best action movie of 2004. I've seen almost every action movie ever made so I'm a pretty good judge. This flick has a solid story, real conflict, and some dark Garth Ennis-inspired humor. If you like tough-guy movies like "Mad Max," "Die Hard" and "Gladiator," this is right up your alley.
This movie was made for 30 million and has made over 50 million. It was also the #1 DVD when released. If you missed it when it came out I highly recommend you rent it....and have fun!
Movie Review: Punisher has its good points and its bad points
Summary: 5 Stars
I enjoyed this movie very much as it was very different then the original that came out over 10 years ago (don't have that one near me so can't remember the exact date it came out). This movie has action as well as some comedy but keeps that darkness that goes along with this movie. Some of the best action is when the gunfight at the family resort takes place and of course when the Russian (Kevin Nash) comes in and destroys the Punisher. The only thing I don't get and others agree with this is halfway through he tells everyone that hes Frank Castle which when he turns into the Punisher, Frank died with his family. oh, the story basically is that a former detective, Frank, that was a special opts in the military has his family targeted for death since on his last mission, they whole police unit take down the mobsters son. His family gets killed and he barely survives, thus out for revenge (or is it justice?) the Punisher is born. I would say watch the movie for yourself to see how it is, i'd love to say watch it based on reviews, but not everyone shares my opinion on movies so see if you like it as much as i did.Movie Review: Marvelously Good 5 Stars
Please excuse the terrible opening pun of my brief review of this wicked movie but I could,nt resist!!!! I,m sure there are a lot of grown adults out there, who like me, rushed down to the local sweet shop on a Saturday morning having been given their pocket money in order to buy a marvel comic! My own favourite was the Avengers who consisted of Captain America, The Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, The Vision, Hawkeye, The Wonderful Wasp and Giantman to name but a few!!! I also, however, would buy The Amazing Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk and of course The Punisher!!! A lot of us have waited a long time for our superhero icons to be done justice on the big screen and at last advances in filmaking techniques have begun to answer our prayers!! Other people have reviewed the back story of the character of Frank Castle aka The Punisher so I,ll simply say if you loved this comic as a child then you need to see this movie it is excellent!!!!!! Can,t wait for the Fantastic Four!!!!
