Movie Review: Almost Traditional Fairy Tale
Summary: 5 Stars
Fencing, fighting, torture, chases, escapes, miracles, true love. That is a pretty accurate summary of The Princess Bride.
The movie takes a happier view of endings. The boy and the girl get to live happily ever after, even with the kissing part. I think the movie version is not a total traitor to the storyline of the book.
The book takes on a more satirical tone. If you want a fairy tale, watch the movie. If you want a funny, unrealistic not-so-happy love story, read the book.
I had no trouble with this download.

A first rate cast and excellent script makes this movie an absolute delight to view. Many hilarious scenes, particularly the the ones with Billy Crystal as Miracle Max. And it is "inconceivable" to review this movie without mentioning Wallace Shawn, an actor I was not familiar with, but who was an outstandingly humorous villain. Cary Elwes was ideal in his role as the hero Westley. As Peter Falk says at the beginning, this movie has everything . . . from romance to sword play to miracles. This is a great edition of a must see movie. I'm glad I spent the extra money to get the 20th Anniversary Edition.
