Movie Reviews of The Prince of Egypt

Movie Review: I NEED AIR , I CAN'T BREATHE!!!!!! HELP!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all this movie is great. The animation is amazing , the voice actors , the music , and the story itself is great.
It's from the book of Exodus. It begins with Yocheved , the mother of Moses , after that the river flows Moses to the palace of the pharaoh , Seti. There the mother of Rameses finds Moses and takes him as her own child. Then he becomes the prince of egypt. And I won't say anything else , you should watch the movie. About the title of my review the movie it's so breathtaking I couldn't breathe when I first saw it , it was amazing, stunning!! The good thing about this movie is that it happenned in real life , from the book of Exodus , and when Moses freed the Hebrews. Luckily I THINK there are no fictional characters in this movie , that's wnat I think. This movie is my inspiration to become an artist , it's amazing what a group of people can do together , and the whole world can enjoy it.
Although , it took 4 years to make this film , and it was worth it. I love the music by Hanz Zimmer. Now the voice actors , first Val Kilmer as Moses his voice is perfect it suits Moses very well.

Movie Review: Wow!
Summary: 5 Stars

When I first heard about this film, I wasn't interested in something I thought would be completely different from the true Book of Exodus. However, from the first few moments of the film, I could tell right away that this wasn't just a cartoon. Another thing I noticed is that this isn't a film for young children. There are several scenes that can be disturbing to little kids (they gave it a PG rating for a reason). Older kids and adults will greatly enjoy this movie. Some of the animation is breathtaking, and always keeps your attention. The Prince of Egypt is an excellent film, staying true to the Bible in most respects. There are flaws, of course. Moses was actually 80 years old when he returned to Egypt after being banished. And his brother Aaron did most of the speaking to the Pharoah. I felt, however, that the movie got the basic story and message across, and viewers won't be disappointed. The score is also amazing (I can't stand the Carey-Houston version of the main song, though).

Movie Review: Take note Disney!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is probably the best non-Disney animated movie I have ever seen (okay, maybe equal with An American Tail), and it beats most of those. Fair enough, you almost can't go wrong with such a well known story and charachters (although those who have seen the awful Magic Sword: Quest for Camelot may disagree), but the way it is adapted into such an accessible form is such that even us athiests must enjoy it. It also has a rousing score which is also important for this kind of movie and is part of why Disney films of late have been so average.

This is also, thankfully, one of the best DVDs yet released for any movie, packed with extras, the highlight being the multi-language presentation of 'When you Believe'. We can only hope that Disney and others follow this example... could this indeed have led to the Special Edition releases of A Bugs Life and Tarzan?

In short, this disc is a MUST whether or not you have kids.

Movie Review: Excellent, Inspirational, Wonderful Movie!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm sorry I missed this one in the theatre, but very glad I bought it on DVD. The music is incredible and really adds to the movie. The vocal tracks are great, and Hans Zimmer's instrumentals are tremendous as usual. The story really personalizes Moses and Rameses, you see how Rameses was under such pressure to not be the "weak link", and Moses had to confront his brother to free his people. The video is outstanding, I think this story had to be done in animation because you just couldn't get the special effects necessary in real life. The red sea, death of the first born, and many other scenery shots are breathtaking. The story may not stick to the bible exactly, but I feel if by adapting it they got people who wouldn't normally watch a film like this or feel a connection to God to do so, then it was worth it. Just buy this DVD, it will touch you, and I highly recommend the soundtrack, too.

Movie Review: An Animation Sensation!
Summary: 5 Stars

DreamWorks SKG's first animated feature, is an instant Masterpiece! Fantastic animation, amazingly incredible computerized "Parting of the Red Sea" sequence. Astounding, my absolute favourite animated feature. From the moment Moses is placed in the basket and discovered by the Queen, to when he becomes a man and learns of his destiny, to when he believe in the Lord, and takes his staff, hits the sea and it splits in two, Every moment is moving and touching. Hans Zimmer has out done himself, with another 5 Star score. The DVD version is spectacular, crisp, clear and very very sharp. You can even see each scale of the fish in the beginning of the film, not to forget when the sea drops and returns to level, you can literally see each spray of water and water droplets in the mist!! .Two Thumbs way up!
