Movie Reviews of The Prestige [Blu-ray]Movie Review: A good movie that really does continue to keep you guessing Summary: 5 Stars
This is an interesting movie based around in london in 1900 when the age of magicians/magic show were taking of, of course culmonating with houdini in America. A very interesting concept for the movie, and it really did keep me guessing. I could write a long review like many of the other reviewers, but they do a good job at summerizing it. I can just say, Chritian Bale and Hugh Jackman do spectacular jobs at playing these roles and it was Cool Seeing David Bowie in a movie again, although I kept picturing him in that Darn Labarinth outfit as he played the role of Dr. Tesla. Well casted, great efects, and great plot. Check it out.

Movie Review: Almost pure magic Summary: 5 Stars
The cast and acting are suberb. The flashbacks are all part of the misdirection and mystery. Watch closely.
Based at the turn of the 19th to the 20th centuries, when the industrial revolution was converting from steam to electricity. It mixes magic and science and details the fictional rivlary of two magicians and as a sub-plot the real-life rivalry of two famous inventors of the time.
I have not seen the Illusionist yet, so I can't compare, but as a glorious mystery, it rivals Anthony Shaefer's Sleuth (both the stage and movie version) which curiously, Michael Caine also starred in.
Movie Review: Wow! Summary: 5 Stars
This was probably the best movie I've seen all year. Like the Usual Suspects, it absolutely requires at least a second viewing. You will not figure out the connections on the first pass. Mysterious, dark, and more than a little quirky, the story is riveting and ends on a surprisingly sympathetic note... not at all what you believe you are heading to as the movie unfolds. I won't give anything away here but it is a great movie.
The cast and characterizations are flawless. As a huge Christian Bale fan, I always think each movie I see him in is his best work yet. This is no exception. He's perfect!

The Blu Ray for the prestige is GREAT! it had very good special features on how the movie was made and informative stuff about magicians at those times.
