Movie Reviews of The Point

Movie Review: Tolerance Has The Point
Summary: 5 Stars

For several years I was expecting the DVD release of this wonderful movie The Point. I saw the first time when I was seven. I use this movie to teach tolerance to K-12 kids. I have even used it in college. Little Oblio, his family and even Arrow, Oblio's pet and best friend, are ostracized for being siferent. The talk of the neighborhood, the intolerence and discrimination in a land where being different is a crime. Dicrimination and intolerance may be solve with education, this is an excellent way to teach it.

Movie Review: Oblio - Even the Name Evokes Roundness
Summary: 5 Stars

A truly fantastic animated film about discrimination and prejudice and fear. After banishment from The Land of Point, Oblio realizes you don't have to have a point to have a point. I show this to my fourth grade students every year and it lays a foundation for an amazing discussion, "What if Oblio were and born in The Land of Among the best! The Point is a captivating, thought-provoking treasure!

If only there were an accompanying book...

Movie Review: Excellent purchase
Summary: 5 Stars

My order was received on the date promised and in excellent condition. I had been looking for The Point video for several years and was excited to find it on Amazon. Back when it originally came out, it was a source of amusement and entertainment for my niece and nephew and I wanted to pass on that joy to their children.
I am always quick to order videos and cds through Amazon as I always get prompt and very courteous service.

Movie Review: Does There Need to Be a Point?
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great TV Special (when TV specials were highly anticipated and very very special!) created by Harry Nielsen with Ringo Starr. A boy where everyone has a point is born without a point. After waiting a few years, he still doesn't seem to have a point so is sent out into the world alone with his dog because he doesn't fit in. The boy tries to find a point including the vanishing point but to no avail. What's the point? :)

Movie Review: GREAT FOR KIDS
Summary: 5 Stars

I watched this movie with my 2 boys when they were 7 & 9 yrs of age. They always asked about seeing it again, but I was unable to locate it,, the story stimulates conversation about the differences in people, in a subtle way, makes kids/people think ! The songs are memorable, love them all, no reservations about recommending this to all ages 1 - 100, wonderful enjoyable film, I watch again and again. Raquel
