Movie Review: One of the best ever; trust me!
Summary: 5 Stars
I just want to say one thing about this flick: It is a true masterpiece. I understand that there are those who have submitted unsavory reviews. To them I would suggest two courses of action: 1)Stop being so literal, think outside the box, and become more metophorical in the way you conceptualize life, and 2) pick up a copy of Maurice Friedman's "Worlds of Existentialism". This story is a case study in Yalomian isolation. The acting is perfect, cinematography flawless. FOR THE SERIOUS MINDED ONLY!Movie Review: My favorite Jack Nicholson movie

As Good as it Gets,A Few Good men, Batman,Terms of enerment. are peanuts compared to this. The Pledge is about Reno city Detective named Jerry Black. He's a retired cop who fishes on his spare time. He wants to solve a murder case involving young children. He swore on his soul salvation to one of the victims that he would find out who did this. I can't wait until this masterpiece comes out on DVD. Sean Penn does and outstanding job directing this tale. It has excellent music.Movie Review: Excellent! I want to give it 10 stars

A study into the depths of madness. Jack Nicholson delivers the performance of a lifetime as an obsessed cop who will do anything to catch the killer.Does this film move at a slower pace? Yes. But it is extremely thought provoking and the ending leaves you stunned and mesmorized.
For those that do not like movies that make you think, I'm sure you can watch the mindless, dull and unoriginal spectacle that is the Lord of the Rings instead.

Bravo to Sean Penn and Jack Nickolson for making a bold, and powerful movie. True, the story is horrible and tragic, and as one reviewer put it "I don't like movies that make me depressed." The story keeps you riveted, and terrified. The performances are outstanding. The ending is unlike any that audiences could have anticipated.
